I was just on the BBC sport website and I saw a tweet on the website about Wigan.
It was just basically saying :"For someone regarded as a managerial visionary, he spends a lot of time in the bottom 3"
It's not that he has a bad squad as there is some good talent there.
Discuss?

True. I don't think he's a rubbish manager, he's pretty decent, just not the miracle worker people make out. Which I guess was the point of the article.

Similar to Moyes who gets praised for winning nothing...

Trophies have been monopolised by Man Utd, City and Chelsea with Liverpool getting a decent share- do you really expect Moyes to win trophies?
Managers with small squads fail to win on two fronts, so does Moyes prioritise the FA Cup and settle for 14th place or does he try to get as close to the top four as possible and see what happens in the cups?
He does play strong teams in the Cup, but his squad from 11-20 is what lets him down.
If Man Utd drop Van Persie, they can bring in Welbeck and Hernandez- if Everton drop someone like Fellaini in midfield then what does he bring in?

I think he is a good manager.
Wigan have one of the lowest budgets in the division, so should always be in the bottom few.
He keeps them up playing progressive football:
It's too simplistic to say Bruce did better. Bruce had a lot more money, because Dave Whelan was wealthier at that time and was happy to pump money in.
They don't have that luxury anymore, so retaining their status of a PL team is impressive on its own.
I also think his management style suits a big club, but only time will tell if he ever gets that chance.
Finally I think Steve Bruce is an underrated manager. He has done a decent job pretty much in every job. Not the best, but decent.

Can't compare Moyes to Martinez. Henrik has summed it up nicely.

I don't see where Martinez' next move will be?
It won't be any of the current top four, nor Liverpool, or Arsenal, would he go to Everton if Moyes left? I can't see it being a club like West Brom or Fulham as that isn't a step up enough, if you know what I mean? Might his next job be out of England altogether?

Yeah, I couldn't really guess where he'll end up. Probably a midtable Spanish club.

Henrik, I'd say somewhere like Newcastle would be about right (sooner rather than later the way they're going) - have money to spend, not loads but enough, and a more pressurised environment. Do well and win a cup with a bit of style and top teams would be interested.
That said I can also see him departing for Spanish football.

Wigan need goalscorers. It's as simple as that.
Wigan tend to play extremely well, but they often have very little, if any, end product.

Maybe just a club with bigger gates and more money than Wigan.
Wigan's average is 18000. There are 8 clubs in the Championship alone who have 20000 plus, and would get more were they in the Prem.
If they get promoted and then sack their manager, he might fancy a change.
Otherwise probably a club in Spain.
