Dejected

There have been many disappointing results and performances under the Venky's. In fact it has been one long, shoddy disappointment ever since they arrived.

Luckily I wasn't one of those that got all weak-kneed and trembly at the thought of new owners. In fact I argued against the 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 ears and 45 million spare mentality that many fostered in the hope of getting rid of the Trust.

Sadly everything has turned out as I thought and many others predicted after the shock news of Big Sam being potted. Therefore I have been able to manage my disappointments to some degree as things have panned out much as I feared and unfortunately continue to do so.

But and I am not quite sure why....Saturday's result and performance left me very, very dejected and hugely disappointed. It was of course freezing cold, the crowd was decimated, the atmosphere non-existant, with very few away fans and 'only' Charlton to play. New manager, owners present, on a good run of form prior to this game. All set up nicely for a commanding home win. But then we get served that steaming pile of c.r.a.p and shockingly crash straight back down to square one!

It is a long time since I looked forward to attending the Rovers. It is a long time since I got excited about a game. It is a long time since I enjoyed myself watching. It is a long time since I got value for money. It is a long time since I felt proud of the club and those that represent it.

Saturday felt like a new low. Ripped to pieces in two short years through negligence and incompetence. Done for, shot to pieces, punch drunk. It was there for all to see.

I was sad walking back to the car. It will be a long haul back.

Chicken Casserole for tea.

OOJW,

As usual you nailed it with your realism.

Sadly though I don't think anyone in any influential position at Ewood gives a flying fart about what people like you and the other loyal supporters on here think. The sort of individuals who brought us to this disgrace (which I don't believe is the low-point yet) clearly have no interest in what the paying customer thinks, let alone long loyal fans.

I have spent a life time in retail and these peoples' attitudes to the hand-what-feeds-em is unbelievably bad.

I thought at first they were just naif, then conspiring on a bet, then misguided by others, now just plain incompetent. Any half-smart owner would have realized they were out of their depth and sold off what they could, any decent board would have fired them all, any decent industry regulator would have had serious questions and sanctions AND all objective customers would have long since taken their business elswhere.

But that's the thing isn't it; this is footy and they know that enough customers will keep paying which extends their line of hope and delusion, so they can carry on selling off an asset here, another one there as they slowly sink the club and all hands with her.

Sooner or later the creditors will fire the last torpedo and finish us all off.

Suppin!

I am not even sure they are bothered if crowds start dropping below 10000. They truly are the most baffling football owners I can imagine.

It cannot be that simple that they are just incompetent. They are meant to run a successful business in India. I realise they might have inherited it from mother/father but I just don't accept incompetence is the problem.

How much must our club be losing every week on these crowds and lack of 'global brand' despite having a global adviser. Even with parachute payments it can't be good.

I'm with you Duggy re administration. Not sure if we can tough it out until the end of next season. We ain't going up this season.

Walkden,

Now we are talking about something I have seen in action many times in business - incompetence!

If a market is thriving and the company is well placed through history or good previous decisions it is amazing how long incompetent owners can continue before reality catches up with them.

I suggest that India with 1.2ish billion mouths to feed and a growing wealth, meaning more meat as part of the diet, creates an insatiable market for chicky that many inefficient companies could ride on for years.

I was an advisor to an industry where all you had to do was open the door every day to retire rich - but not anymore and what once were wealthy companies are going broke everyday.

So I do believe that this shower think their chicky success in a rapidly growing market equips them for BRFC. Hence the arrogance and denial - they really think they are up to the task and don't need to listen to the market, another sure sign of incompetence.

Either way, we can slice and dice it all day long, it is our club that is taking it in the old Khyber!

Cheers mate,

Duggy

It was the last straw for me after 2 and a half years of shíte. I really thought with 4 winnable home games in a row we could make a push towards the playoffs but we were just terrible.

I'm not going again whilst the Venky's are in charge, apart from the Burnley game.

Even though I have a season ticket I have better things to do with my Saturday afternoons than watch that lot again, only Rhodes seems to be bothered but there isn't much he can do until the rest of the team learns how to pass to one of the other men running around in blue and white halves.

I am getting to that stage as well Rob. There is nothing to enjoy watching the Rovers. Not sure where it will all end but for sure it appears that it will get worse before it gets any better.

A large part of me died when Berg was appointed to succeed Kean. The way I see it if you have awful owners that you can't get rid of, the only way to salvation is having a good manager. I'd spent 18 months assuming that when Kean was finally disposed of, the carnage he'd caused would have made Venkys learn from the obvious mistake. Berg's appointment when we were crying out for experience and leadership proved that nothing had been learnt.

And if you can't learn from relegation, the halving of your support, and nationwide criticism, you will never learn from anything. Hence, we're doomed.
