So Why Exactly DID we do so well?

I should start by adding a public health warning, those averse to reading articles by drearies should really stop reading..............now.

I have seen a lot of comments on the lines of "we were great, why can't we do that all the time"

1. Spurs did not play their strongest team. Yes they probably thought they had a side out that was good enough to win, and it included some key names, but not playing a recognised striker, for example, unbalanced them
2. the younger players see it as a shop window and, to be fair to them, a chance to test their abilities against a higher level team
3. the older players see a cup run as a nice chance to earn some extra dosh, without the risk that they will get promoted and lose their jobs, which is what would happen to many of them as soon as we get to the Prem
4. any owner not able to invest to produce a promotion winning team, sees a cup run as a way to keep up the fans interest. We'll find out in due course if this applies to GFH

For me, it was exhilarating watching how the younger players performed, despite the sales we still have a few that could give us an exciting future.

But nothing has changed, without investment, this squad is going nowhere. We need more players who would be able to keep their places in the side when we are in the Prem, without that you can expect us to continue to fail, narrowly perhaps, but fail all the same

"Most Leeds United fans know this"

Pray tell us how you "know this" and how you know most fans know this? I'm genuinely interested in your sources.

Can you prove otherwise?

know we can play football so it has to be the tactics. Are we playing to the strengths of the team? Not sure, Becchio can't be the sole reason for hoofball, let's face it, Warnock has generally played this style everywhere
....
Our first goal against spurs was from a over the top hoofball it ball! Don't think diouf got a to touch on it.

So it was a hoof it ball goal. And it played our part in winning.

You must have been watching a different game to me and to be honest I'm not getting into a bizarre debate with you Meme. Have a good one.

Maybe you was at a different game ?

I suggest you watch the replay back and watch it was our player in his own half that hoofed it in the air (and diouf missed it am sure) and it ran into Varney and we scored. So it was a hoof it ball goal. And it played our part in winning.

But because it was against spurs no one cares and it's not hoofiball.

Yet if it was it bottom of the table Bristol it would been a hoofit ball goal and a disrcafull goal and not the Leeds united way.
