Is it Arshavin's fault?

4 years ago, during a chilly spell the mighty gunners were fighting for fourth spot with Aston Villa. Then suddenly SSN became alive with a player whom we really took notice of at Euro 2008.

Back then we were still bashing our defence, RVP was nowhere near the team, Adebayor was Jay-Z and AC Milan was Beyonce Bendtner washot and cold but in 3 years dividends will pay and there was no way in which Denilson would have thought of warming the bench, Theo had no footballing brain and him with Nasri had a number of years left on their contracts.

To cut the long story short, Wenger back then identified our lack of creativity and firepower, we got scoring again and we were in title winning form bar it being too late as we went on a 19 game unbeaten run. We dont really know what happened but I am sure that Arshavin's signing had a lot to do with that.

Wenger has never been really a fan of January Signings (so he says) and it is a theory that Arshavin's rise and fall is one of the reasons. To be honest I would rather he takes this gamble and at least restore some pride by improving the way we play, what happens in future seasons will take care of its own in June or the following season. So sad because a lot of us love Wenger but he has stabbed us and is twisting the knife when he is convincing himself that we have enough quality but even I believe when he potrays that in the media e is also trying to convince himself. 10 hours to save our season. I dont like Santos but I do not want to watch the roast of Santos twice by Munich.
