just watched that fan on central news outside the ground.....embarrasing or what. With that and talk of protests at the ground tomorrow dont you realise you are starting to sound just like those muppets who were a laughing stock protesting outside vile park a few months back.
What the hell do you want from Pannu....he has made his statement and from what i can see what he says makes sense.
We are not a Prem club anymore..thank McJudas for that sat in his ivory tower accross the city....(as noted by Steve Howard in his sun column today!) you cannot blame the board for not backing him. We cannot afford players on Prem wages end of.....get behind the players we have left..how the hell are they going to feel turning up tomorrow to see protests outside the ground? do you think they will feel inspired to play their hearts out for the club?
Get real people
Oh my god embarrasing or what

Ill agree with Hughton being one of the better managers in the division.
Do not call blues fans idiots for protesting outside the ground for the club they all love. Granted there will be a few young kids who wont be able to contain their excitement but the main will be there in SUPPORT of their club.
We are blues fans, not villa fans. Start acting like one.
Everyone has their right to say what they want to or show their feelings. Especially if they are giving their honest opinions on the club they love. I dont agree with your views and I think your wrong but Ill listen to them, take them on board and have to respect that they are your views

We have a good enough squad to challenge at the top of the championship .........................
We have signed nothing but quality championship players...............................

Taity, I also can appreciate your viewpoint. I can see where you come from and, as you know, do not agree.
However, another of my opinions is that protesting is idiotic. It doesn't work, it never has - except perhaps in Eqypt, but I can hardly see it at that scale.
All that will happen is that football fans across the country will laugh at us. No-one at the club will take notice of it - unless it becomes violent.

And you call me sceptical !!
What else can the fans do? Just sit back and enjjoy the ride. We hear nothing for weeks and then Mr Pannu confirms our worst fears. Are we just to be rolled over? Do our opinions not count? The money we have all spent, including those who could barely afford it.
A protest will, if nothing else, show the world that our club still has a voice, that we wont just sit quietly in the corner as the clubs possible worst days loom ahead.
Any football fan who honestly laughs at that isnt a proper football fan and to those who do..... do we really give a damn right now?

Ffs,
Rather than just put ......................, why don't you elaborate on this?
Or even, why don't you wait for me to be proved wrong by actual results.
What have any of the players done to prove that we aren't good enough to challenge.
Myhill - Promoted with Hull
Doyle - Promoted with Blues
Carr - Promoted with Blues
Murphy - Promoted with Blues
Davies - Promoted with WBA
Caldwell - Promoted with Burnley & Sunderland
Burke - Play-offs for Cardiff regularly
Fahey - Promoted with Blues
Mutch - Quality for Watford
Gomis - Rated by Dundee United (SPL) fans
Michel - Should be quality
Beausejour - Prem Standard
King - Promoted with Watford, Prolific in this league
Rooney - Prolific in SPL
Still here but will leave;
Jerome - Promoted with Blues
Dann - Quality
Ridgewell - Promoted with Blues
Youngsters are promising and will be given a decent chance by Hughton & there will be more players to come.

Pannu did not confirm anybody's worst fears. Every Blues fan's worst fear is Administration followed Extinction.
I don't remeber him saying anything about that. Did you read his statement?
I said that our plans for this season are still in place and that, not only is our relationship with HSBC good, we have a positive bank balance at present.
What he then said was that - because of the case surrounding Carson Yeung and subsequent asset freeze - in order to continue with our plans whilst balancing the books, we need to bring in some extra revenue by offloading some playing talent.
This money is not to just pay the wages as reported in the rags, this extra reveune will allow us to continue adding to the squad, whilst paying wages and bills too.
Therefore, instead of keeping players like Foster, we are offloading them for cash and bringing in cheaper - but quality - alternatives like Myhill.

On scepticism, who is genuinely more scpetical?
Me for saying that a protest wont make the board sell the club?
Or you for saying our squad isn't good enough to compete?

Steve, your avin a laugh mate.
That team will not get promoted in any season, leadt of all the first one when they all have first met as a squad.
What have any of the players done to prove that we aren't good enough to challenge.?????????? Got turned over by Oxford? Yes I know it was a friendly ffs but it was a new team with new players supposedly trying to show their worth and why they should be picked for the team. God knows all the positions are up for grabs!!
The most intelligent thing you have said is why dont I wait untill the results prove you wrong. Do you want 2 months before we review the situation or do you want 3 months?
Our squad isnt good enough to compete, I wish it was!!!!!!!
And if you believe the bull you just wrote about adding to the squad with money made off players sold then Im amazed.
Who is left anyway??
Like we have said, lets see!

Yeah, fair do's. I very much repsect you as an intelligent poster on these boards and will take no personal pride if I am proved right.
The pre-season is all about trying out new things. Chris Hughton will have tried out some substitutions, a few plan B's and they obviously didn't come off against Oxford.
Tomorrow against Everton will be closer to what we can expect but without enough available strikers, it still wont be what Hughton wants. I expect more options up front to be recriuted before 31st August.
Reports say that we have been in for Nile Ranger and have shown interest in Billy Sharp.
If we sell Jerome for a reported £4m, I expect us to go in for Ranger for around £1m. Sharp will cost about £3m so, if reports of our interest are true, i'd expect Ridgewell's sale to fund that aswell as Jerome's.
There's a report on the Mail website that we would replace the £3m Ridgewell with Jonathan Spector on a free. That's decent business in this league.

I like your optimism its different to so much negativity
I stand in the middle though, its not as bad as maybe JK and KBM may think, but its far from as rosey as you SCT think.
I would not sign Ranger unless it was a loan or £250K that can rise to £1M
I think he could be a potential bad egg, who would make King look like Mary Poppins, i also think he is even worse than Jerome
If we are after a Striker we have done teh Dingles a big favour for how cheap Johnson was, i recon we give them a chance to make their money back.
Thats loan SEB with a £4M option on him
Thats sqaud SCT is a decent one, all it lacks is some depth if we keep it fit then i think we would need ontop another 2 CB's and Fullback Cover and 2 more Strikers.
Maybe we could use loans for such players.

Looking at your side its...
GK Myhil, Doyle
DF Carr, Murphy, Davies, Caldwell
MF Burke, Fahey, Gomis, Michel, Beausejour, Valles
ST King, Rooney
Thats 14 players plus youth in Mutch, Redmond and Asante who are good enough to get games this season. Plus a few other youngsters. (Butland etc).
I think all we would need is 5-8 players to add to that side.
Looking only at players who have been more ready linked and not hearsay.
DF Killgallon, Spector and McCartney would in addition to the 4 defenders likely to stay and 2 youth defenders would sort out defence.
MF Jones would be a good addition add to that a Winger Free/Loan and thats midfield sorted
ST I think we need at least 2 additions here maybe 3 even if we use loans.
If we signed Spector, McCartney, Koumass, Jones and Derbyshire (free)
Kilgallon, Ranger, and then a Winger and Striker (all loans).
Thats a side that can push for Promotion, and not cost a great deal but a lot depends on not the costs of running the club and wages in/out fees in/out but it will depend on the debts Yeung and BIH have with the banks from our purchase and interest payments.
