Best football lie told to the wife?

The wife asked why I had the day off messing up her schedule when I normally work on Tuesdays. Didnt tell her about a month ago when I did my schedule and noted the Juventus game was on Tuesday, that I took the day off.

She was pisd because we have to arrange for someone else to pick up my son from school on Wednesday because I am now working.

To follow up that lie I have arranged for the neighbor to pick him up today from school because it will be around half time in the game and of course I dont want disturbed

Then this am she said to make sure I help him write out his valentines for bis classmates before she gets home. I was like sure ill be right on top of that

So for those of you that are married and footy mad, what's the best lie you've ever told the wifey to watch a game?

the wife is usually happy to have a bit of piece when im at the footy rather than winding her up.

that stance usually changes however when it involves meeting the lads in the bar before and after the game

Just like she always asks me why I can get up at 7am to watch a Celtic game on the weekend but cant get up at tbat time to help her oot

She needs to sort her priorities out

5 hunner

she also has caught on that if the game isnae at Ibrox then I need to buy a ticket.

so I tell her every game is at home

This works as long as we are playing Clyde but not so good if we are at Elgin

Bluebell problem is if I tell her the truth and she realizes that I can change my schedule around when I want, she's going to start asking me all the time to do it!

this is very important as you dont want to ask the boss for time off due to trivia for say a parents evening when you might want off early the next week for a trip to Montrose.
