The loan striker

Anyone else thinking maybe a dip into the loan market for a good striker could be what's needed! I feel futacs vardy and waggy just won't cut it and Nugent isn't going to be able to keep it going on his own if wood has taken a knock? I just feel we only have wood and Nugent as our options as the other cant step it up.

I was thinking someone in the yakubu category! Possibly not the yak as he is probably 83 now. But a heavy weight that can hold play up but score as well!

Just ship them both out the door quietly at the end of the season and everyone can come to their own conclusions.

To extend this slightly, I can see why it would come across like this, but my interpretation is more like:

"people can think what they like, the managers' job is be clamer than that".

My view is that whilst Wood's injury is most inconvenient. I think NP just does not want to let the rest of the league know the state of his team. I for one think this is good management, do not give the opposition any information, and allow them to plan for future games. If Pearson delared he was out for 6 weeks, the rest of the league managers will be able to capitalise on this information. Keep 'em guessing, and if that is to the fans lack of information received, fair enough.

So people think it would be a good idea for the manager to come out and publicly slate the strikers he's going to rely on whilst Wood is injured.

Wow, I've no idea how you guys aren't already managing at the top level of the game.

Pearson was a fool for not bringing anyone in to replace Waggy/Vardy/Futacs in the transfer window. - How do you know he didn't try and wasn't able to?

For the record, whilst I think Futacs should be shipped out at the earliest opportunty, I've also not given up on Waggy and Vardy yet despite them clearly being out of form currently.

No good bringing in a striker of equal to Nugent or Wood. Might upset one of them and cause probs come season end.
Waghorn was playing quite well before Chris Wood was signed. Creating and shooting quite freely. Was one of the top performers at the time. He should be the back-up 3rd choice and remain in the side should he come in and do well.
Would like to know the total truth about the absence of Chris Wood though. More to it than a knock injury? That wasn't mentioned at the time!!! Stop messing about City or else we'll blow it!

"My own answer to that is, a lot more. I don't like him and I don't trust him, and I don't expect that to change, even if he get's us promoted. "

You don't have to like him, but just hope that he does well for our football club. I can't stand Alex Ferguson, but his management credentials are without question.

Pearson has done a great job for this football club, unlike the mealy-mouthed, people's friend, that was Sven. I want my manager to make us a better football team - not win a personality contest!

Everyone that's banging on about bringing in a new striker just think back to the loan signings we had with Sven; Yakubu, Kamara and Bednar.

The Yak was slagged off for being lazy but scored 11 in 20, Kamara and Bednar were both rubbish but on paper at least, should have been good signings with Prem experience.

It just shows how difficult it is to bring in quality strikers but i'm sure that Pearson, if he could, would love to sign someone with real quality but that will come at a cost, either financially or at the risk of dis-harmony in the dressing room!!
