I was lying in bed last trying to remember the good old days and I got to thinking what about Ian Wright.
I read lots about the legends of Arsenal but I don't ever seem to hear his name mentioned. Surely with his goal scoring record and the things he won with the club he has the (w)right (sorry) to be remembered up there with the likes of Henry and Adams. He was certainly my hero growing up.
My question would be why do you think it is he is so overlooked these days. Is it because of Henry being sooooo good people have forgotten about him or was it that he has shown he is a bit of an idiot with his TV appearance and it has ruined our image of him?
It would also be great to hear about your fav goals and memory of Ian Wright Wright Wright too!!!

To be fair lads, I doubt ja606 and the old 606 boards are that accurate a barometer of " real life ".
Depending on age, footballing taste etc of your regular contacts it's perfectly plausible that you have both had very different experiences when discussing ex players.
Personally, I know a lot of people who long for " that " back 5.
I also know a few younger lads who don't even remember Winterburn playing for us.
I would love to say Winterburn, Keown, Adams, Dixon, Bould and Seaman will be forever idolized ( and I know among my generation of fans they will be ) but younger fans have shorter memories and different idols.
I also know Arsenal ans adamant that Patrick Vieira was aworld class " DM " when playing for us, so, ya know ,memory is a tricky thing.

I think your scraping the barel here. Have a quick search of the last 5 pages of the JA606 Arsenal board. Any mention of the players you talk about? Have a look through the last 10 pages, 20 pages etc etc. You might find the odd comment but it will not be the norm.
