What do you think about the new advertising boards around the perimeter of the pitch that have been used for the last two matches. I found them very distracting, they are so bright that the pitch and players appear very dark and difficult to distinguish, as though the flood lights had gone out. Apparently they They turned the brightness down by 40% at half time in the Charlton game due to several complaints, not that I noticed any difference. The club have also since received many complaints, they are on trial until the end of the season

Like you Old Fox i found them annoying and distracting and struggled to see the ball at the far end from where i sit in the kop, plenty of people were not happy with them. It just seemed that they were too bright and probably would be ok if they could tone them down a bit.
Wonder what the players thought about them?

I'm going to put them as the reason why we have been so poor recently, players are too interested in what's being advertised!

I now remember the BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra commentator talking of a dazzling performance a week or so ago...
...off the pitch obviously.

Most of the premiership grounds have them so if we want to go up we best get used to them.
More advertising money as well.

This probably sounds like a big fuss over nothing to those who weren't there, but they were awful. They killed the atmosphere from the start and on some occasions actually got murmurs from the crowd when certain things flashed across them.
If we have them, we'd better find a way to tone them down because people will seriously not buy season tickets if they have to put up with that.

I don't like them and also didn't notice the difference from the first half to the second.
That said, they do seem to be installed at all the major venues and if we want to be considered as a big venue we have to move with the times - I'd love to hear a players honest opinion about them

Maybe the advertisements should be static during the game. Just have them scrolling or such before kick-off, at half-time and at full-time?
