Decent workout for our pre season friendly team against the LOI's finest select. Not surprising we out-gunned Man City despite the fact they played against a weaker Airtricity XI yesterday. Wanyama looked utterly composed and if this is how good he is in his first few weeks then it bodes well for the next few seasons.

izzy - i think wanyama is the replacement for kayal when he goes. He might do a job at CB but it's not his natural position and he's young. I'm hoping we bring in another experienced CB and let wanyama slowly ingratiate himself into the midfield over the next season. But if Lenny says he can who the hell am I to argue?

Why are there only two games when there are four teams?

I'd rather see wanyama play cb than loovens. Would like us to bring another cb in but where from? Who?

I think that a goalkeeper is the priority. I mean the CB' we have are not terrible, the same cannot be said for the goalkeepers.

agreed HF but we are the three right players away from being a very very good outfit. GK, CB & ST are positions for our team which need quality rather than quantity.
1 - Craig Gordon
2 - ?
3 - Aldo De Nigris

I wouldn't be surprised to see Forster back before the end of August.

If we are talking about strikers then I have a good shout. Don't shoot me down right away, but I think that Nicklas Bendtner is out of favour at Arsenal. He will be on less wages than Bellamy, he is younger and would fit the target man type. I think a loan deal may be a good option.

no loan deals please. can't we buy to build rather than season long stop gaps?

Forster will be a buy from Newcastle if they are willing to let himim go. They've said they won't loan him again.
