If City draw 0-0 we win the cup.

I tuned in half an hour ago and the score was 1-0. It looked a borefest. Where did Wanyama play CM or CB?

A few god performances today but let's not get carried away. Poor opposition and they tired in the last 20 minutes.

Wanyama looked composed on the ball. I can't believe I'm saying this but I thought Murphy played really well on the left of midfield. Good to see Hooper get a couple of goals too.

Thought the defence was cut open too easily at times although they recovered well to snuff out any danger. Matthews had a really poor game but it might be down to having played a few games in a short period of time having not had much first team action last season.

Overall, it's good to get a confidence boosting win under our belts.

Ta. Is Wanyama the answer for another CB?

we don't need to be gods mate, just bigger men than the rest

Murphy played really well. Did well to score the penalty and he made Stokes' first goal and worked very hard up front.

izzy - i think wanyama is the replacement for kayal when he goes. He might do a job at CB but it's not his natural position and he's young. I'm hoping we bring in another experienced CB and let wanyama slowly ingratiate himself into the midfield over the next season. But if Lenny says he can who the hell am I to argue?

Why are there only two games when there are four teams?

I'd rather see wanyama play cb than loovens. Would like us to bring another cb in but where from? Who?

I think that a goalkeeper is the priority. I mean the CB' we have are not terrible, the same cannot be said for the goalkeepers.

agreed HF but we are the three right players away from being a very very good outfit. GK, CB & ST are positions for our team which need quality rather than quantity.
1 - Craig Gordon
2 - ?
3 - Aldo De Nigris

I wouldn't be surprised to see Forster back before the end of August.

If we are talking about strikers then I have a good shout. Don't shoot me down right away, but I think that Nicklas Bendtner is out of favour at Arsenal. He will be on less wages than Bellamy, he is younger and would fit the target man type. I think a loan deal may be a good option.

no loan deals please. can't we buy to build rather than season long stop gaps?

posted on 31/7/11

Forster will be a buy from Newcastle if they are willing to let himim go. They've said they won't loan him again.
