I am sure most of you must have downloaded music, movies and stuff for free either through torrents or other sources.
Many of you stream football matches for free obviously which some may consider piracy.
We have seen so many music artists, record labels etc speaking out loud against online piracy as it deprives the talented artists the income through sales and rightly so.
Do you agree with the major record companies, studios etc say about it? Do you think stopping piracy is a way for them to earn more money?
Or do you think piracy has no effect on the artists? If they are talented enough they'll earn a lot through live performances, merchandises etc.
Most of you may have downloaded movies through torrents. Do you think it affects the industry, the theatre owners etc? For ex Skyfall was released 10 days prior in my country than it released in US/ UK.
I bet many may have downloaded it by then and enjoyed it.
Do you think this affects the studios worth billions of dollars in Hollywood?
Does downloading music instead of buying CD's affect the music artists?
Do you condone or condemn online piracy?

Starbucks are turning over millions of pounds in the UK but paying no corporation tax.
I'm turning over probably what one of their branches does a week as a limited company but woe betide me if I pay my corporation tax a day late (with interest).
Sadly we are being generally done over by the corporates and lawmakers in this country and across the world but morally right or wrong, we should still stick to the law. Not saying I do, far from it but we shouldn't rob off our fellow people in the same position just trying to make our lives more enjoyable with their music! The record companies already do enough of that to them as it is!

I remember one of the early ones where you could browse peoples directories. If they shared the wrong folder you could browse the persons drive including My Documents. it made for some interesting discoveries.

One of the best threads I've contributed to on this site. Take away the football rivalry and most people actually agree!
