A turning point or a false dawn ?

Whatever your views on Saunders, Morgan, moxey Henry's etc last night has given us some hope, some positive relief for the first time in months and the potential of survival.

I personally think we may have got a low as we could. After all surely eventually our luck and results must turn after such a bad run. However, I also think there are still issues and we must not get carried away. Four wins on the trot is the time for that.

So what have we learned and what was last night.

Firstly I believe we have learned a number of lessons. We are no worse with some of our youngsters in the team (batth, Doherty, Robinson, Davis) and this bodes well for now and the future. I also believe we have realised that sako is key and I believe that Siggy has a big role to play. Formation wise, I am not convinced Saunders has learned what is our optimum formation as yet and we are still seeing some huge selection changes that are hard to fathom. Edwards is ok, but not a right winger and although he scored and works hard, he won't bring us natural balance. I think it's clear that we can survive without Henry (there was a time when we couldn't) and this should be experimented on until the end of the season. Not suggesting we drop him for good, but lets ensure Davis gets game time, I don't think it weakens us. Finally, we still are struggling to score goals and it feels like a seb / Siggy partnership is our best route with subs of Doyle / Cassidy, as we will need goals.

So Saunders goes into the weekend having learned some lessons, having gained a huge win, but he is still I believe unclear as to his best formation. we are starting to see how the youngsters have a positive effect on effort, motivation and to the crowd. And there must be some more belief in the club, the danger is that a couple of setbacks and we could be back to square one, as the strength of resolve has been shown to be poor this season already. Therefore, it is key we get a decent run now.

So we've learned some lessons, we are still in trouble, one swallow definitely doesn't make a summer. So what was last night?. For me a first delicate step towards survival. And one that will need following up with a leep pretty soon if we are to make that a reality.

We need to build on this, keep some momentum, stick with some of the kids and be realistic as to where our goals come from. The final part is I believe Saunders does need to work out his formation and rough starting x1 pretty soon. If we do this and keep some momentum we'll then find out once and for all if last night was a turning point or a false dawn.

You mean 6 wins if the other teams don't pick up any points gem.

You're supposed to wait for the question before supplying the answer

I think if you read some of the comments from the manager since he has been at the club. He will utilize his squad I think especially with the younger players. It is obvious with Eubanks Blake that his is having a few injury issues. He rested Doyle and Siggy becuase he thought they were knackered from the game against Watford.

Nice to celebrate a win, I think 4 home wins and 2 away wins and we would survive. I think a draw against forest.

I'd be surprised if we needed 6 more wins to survive Pattaya and even more surprised if we won 6 of the remaining 10 games.

Three more wins would put us on 48 points which I would hope would be enough.

If we can beat three of the teams around us, we will be taking vital points from our relegation rivals so let's beat three of:

Brizzle, Birmingham, Bolton, Huddersfield and Burnley (for good measure). Simples!

Just watched the game...thanks Tara & I was very pleased with the performance. We looked solid at the back, pressed well from the front, mixed it nicely between long balls & patient build up. We looked well in control & saw the game out nicely. The only good fortune we had was for once not having any bad luck. Both goals were excellent strikes. I have no one to criticize, not even Henry.

So this relegation thing is just the usual usual. We just have to avoid being rubbish & unlucky for the rest of the season & we'll finish comfortably mid table.

I'd take a draw at Forest.
