Afternoon gents, just heard that Tony Gubba the great football commentator has died.
Sad news and best regards to his family.
Alongside David Coleman and the best of the lot for me Barry Davies he was one of the voices of BBC Sport, who spread his talents across the board. Remember him covering a fair few Liverpool games back in the day, not many better.
Best regards.
RIP Tony Gubba

Each to their own of course.

Of course. I just thought his voice was a bit mundane and dreary. Whereas Tyle, Davies even Pearce seem to put more enthusiasm into their work.
