Wow that is sad news indeed, in terms of Modern commentators only Martin Tyler compares to the Likes of Tony Gubba and Barry Davies (Agreed OP Davies was the best)

Of course. I just thought his voice was a bit mundane and dreary. Whereas Tyle, Davies even Pearce seem to put more enthusiasm into their work.
Every credit to him for a successful career, just wasn't my cup of tea.
