Sad loss, great commentator. I guess the one positive was his illness was short and he wasn't in pain for an extended period.

Wow that is sad news indeed, in terms of Modern commentators only Martin Tyler compares to the Likes of Tony Gubba and Barry Davies (Agreed OP Davies was the best)

Or he simply commentated on what he saw and wasn't over the top, delivered it as it should be IMO.

Of course. I just thought his voice was a bit mundane and dreary. Whereas Tyle, Davies even Pearce seem to put more enthusiasm into their work.
