Newyankee.....last one. If that had be a lucrative televised game there is no way the game would have been off.Fans like myself spent money, time and effort to get tickets.SHAME ON THE CLUB.

Lanza, as long as you are ok for the rescheduled date then you havent wasted time and money getting tickets have you?
You just use them later.
You get a refund if you cant make the new date.

There were probably fans that have altered their work rota to attend.

I've just seen Brian Flynn's interview pre Portsmouth.I can now accept the views of those of you who said Tuesday's game should have been played.

That is what Flynn says he told the referee in rather strong terms. However, it does also prove that the referee is the sole arbitor in such matters. The team trained at 4 pm and the Youth team played a game at 1 pm on the uncovered pitches at the training ground.

I therefore apologise to Lanzo and others as perhaps you were robbed of a game..

On a light hearted note, with games being cancelled due to the weather, i remember a few (a lot) of years ago when men were real men, turning up at a ground to play.
It had been raining heavily for a few days and the pitch resembled a swamp.
Unbelievably the ref deemed the pitch to be playable.
When we tossed up for choice of ends at the start of the game our skipper decided that we would defend the shallow end in the first half.

NY - just a point to note - the training ground doesnt have bigs stands round it does it mate.

I was going by what Brian Flynn said, he WANTED the game to be played Hound, I can't be any fairer than that. He said it was playable the ref said it wasn't, ref wins.

From Flynn's comments it had nothing to do with rthe stands.

Me and Lanza wanted the game to be played as well but that counts for nothing either.
The only bloke who had a say was the ref.
Flynn wanted the game to be on because we had just come off the good away win and he wanted to keep it rolling.
