Game Off

I am suprised that the club didnt cover the pitch to be honest.
I knew last friday that it was gonna freeze this week so they should have known too.
Cheap option - not bothered.

I've just had a look at tonights L1 fixtures and all games north of Nottingham have been cancelled due to frozen pitches.
There's no money up north you know.

Good theory, Dartford being the exception which proves the rule.

All games in Scottish leagues off except Berwick, probably because it's in England.

All the money is obviously in the Midlands and the South East.

Not shocked at all. I'll be off to watch Gainsborough tonight then!

Just looking at the available dates for the Carlisle game:
Tuesday 26th March - although not likely to be chosen as it would mean four games in nine days over the Easter period.
That only really leaves Tuesday 9th April or Tuesday 16th April.
If the Pompey game ends up cancelled we will have a real fixture pile up problem.

How this has been cancelled is beyond me, it's a joke.
Yes night time temperature have fallen to -4 or -5, but day time temps have been +2 or +3. Thought we had top of the range covers that protect the pitch to -6!!!
If Saturdays game is off we know they're taking the p15s, temps in the day are set to rise to 7 degrees by Friday.

Noticed even the players are slagging the lack of undersoil heating off!
Apparently even the training pitch isn't frozen, and thats only a mile away!

Yes but it hasnt got stands built round it keeping the sun off.
With polypipe as our sponsor surely they could be invited to do something with an underfloor (undersoil) heating system when they dig the pitch up at the end of the season.
There is a photo on the official website of the pitch when it was being inspected and it looks really bad in the area they are looking at.
Our covers protect to -3.
Last time we used them we also borrowed another cover from a rugby club to take it to -6 protection.

Saw Sky sports news, and there were covers on the pitch. Problem was rareas where there is no sun getting to the ground.

It may help if we had some grass on the pitch.
But there is no truth in the rumour that we had a depleted squad do to racing commitments at Cheltenham.
Because some of the squad may be banned from British Racecourses as was a certain past Benefactor for an involvement with " Flockton Grey"

We should have had installed undersoil heating when the ground was built, this would have been on if we had it!

We still cant change the weather though.
Doncaster is not in Lanzarote is it.
The council built the stadium and took the decision not to install undersoil heating.
Why is it the clubs fault that the ref took a decision at noon to call off the game.
My lawn is soft enough to be playable right now so maybe the pitch is, i dont know coz i'm not there.
Have you been to have a look/

no need to look hound my estate looks fine, the pheasants were out earlier.its currently showing plus 4 .0 degrees on the temperature recorder for my geo thermic heat pump on a north facing wall.on the east wing of casa lanza. no snow at all.GAME OFF.The club were not prepared or dont care.Sorry amigo.

The thing is lanza, at lunchtime my lawn was frozen in the parts that dont get any winter sun.
Now as it happens there werent any people planning to pay good money to come down from Carlisle to watch me run about on it tonight so i didnt have to decide then whether it would be ok tonight.
The chap at the keepmoat had to consider that when he made his decision.
Out of interest, why do you have to fall out with me because i have a different opinion?

we usually only disagree on one thing lol.
but seriously i think the club could have done better today.
I will say thiis as a final comment.
I tell you now that if tonights game was a cup match due to be televised withall the financial rewards i dont think i would have been off.I dont think you do either.
