Away goal

Arsenal fans are still upse that they went out on away goals, but what do you guys think?
The only thing I disagree with it, is that it's still active when it goes to extra time, giving the the away time extra time to score a goal which equals a goal and a half.

It's a fairer way to decide a tie than pens.

I like the away goals rule. It's a good way to get away teams to come out and try to score rather than parking the bus.

To be honest I've always disliked the away goals rule, this stems from times United have drawn 0-0 away and 1-1 at home and gone out. I don't consider a team going through after those results to be deserving of it!

Previous posters have mentioned an advantage of playing at home, well I consider it to be a disadvantage considering anything conceded at home has double the consequences.

Teams can play away from home with a little more freedom feeling less anxious about conceding, I view playing away as an opportunity rather than a disadvantage, and I'd expect the top managers view it the same way!

NB, you get the home team parking the bus instead!

Always have said, that I don't see why their is a need to go into E.T with a blatent advantage.

90 minutes at their ground, 90 minutes at your ground with the away rule in effect. after the 180 minutes, it goes to penalties.

And for those who say, it's a clear advantage to the away team to have an extra 30 minutes to score an away goal, should there be extra time, this also means that the home team have an extra 30 minutes of home advantage.

while that is true, you could conversely say that the home team gets the advantage of getting to play an extra 30 minutes and potentially penalties infront of their supporters
