Has anyone here watched enough of their games to be able to give us a good analysis of our Europa opponents?
Rubin finished 6th in their league last season, and feature some familiar personalities:
-Gokhan Tore: Chelsea Academy product. Spent a season at Hamburg.
-Yann M'Vila: decent quality French international who should probably be playing in a stronger league. Seems to be compromising his prospects for short term gain.
-Salomon Rondon: we were linked with this guy in Jan. Glad we got Ba instead. Looking at his record, it doesn't appear that he's been very impressive so far in his new team.
Any other insights/commentary regarding Kazan?
As a side note - congratulations to Torres for managing to put in a decent half a game yesterday, and presenting the semblance of giving a fudge. Perhaps the association with Anzhi and the rumors of Lukaku's impending return (as well as the fact that he's been overshadowed by a kid) have helped him realize that he's not on a paid vacation in London.
Anyone know much about Rubin Kazan?

"They did the double over Barcelona a few years ago."

No they didn't. They drew at home and won away.
Then had them in the groups the following year and drew at home then lost away.

bad memories...

I remember them beating Barcelona at Camp Nou two years back following a draw at home with them.
They are quite good.

I find this kind of encouraging. Terry performs best when under pressure or facing adversity. If he plays, I wouldn't be surprised at another Terry goal or a top-notch defensive performance!
"Do they not have Eto"
Eto'o is at the team where Torres will find himself if he doesn't produce more performances like the one against Bucharest. I'm guessing Rondon, who was linked to us, is Rubin's main striker.

currently they have the strongest team in their history, extremly well balanced and well organised.
I can't see Chelsea going through to the next round.
torres to score 2 own goals.
