England will never win anything with

Hodgson as manager and Gerrard as captain.

Last night there were 9 players who started that have won league titles and Know what it is to be a winner. These players were managed by manager who has only ever managed mid table sides in the premiership.A manager who last night proved that when it comes down to it he hadn't the tactical nous or the will to win to change things around when England were under the cosh.

Then you have the National captain Gerrard a player who has never won the league leading out a team full of winners (Johnson apart).Gerrard a player in the twilight of his career playing for a mid table team that has won only a league cup over the last 7 seasons.

A team of winners lead by a mid table manager off the field and a Captain of a mid table team on it.

Lions lead by Lambs is the expression that comes to mind.

As gerrard has done in many England games. Arguably England's best player at the euros as has been mentioned before. He has performed at international level.

You are missing my point totally.

He may have been England's best player at the Euros. That's arguable. Doesn't mean he's suited to the way we want to play.

One player may not look as good individually as another but may make the team function better as a whole.

Gerrard plays for himself and was constantly out of position at the Euros. Futhermore he will try to make something happen rather than give it to a teammate who is in a better postition to make it happen. (A major strength of Michael Carrick)

If Gerrard is to remain a focal point, we'll do nothing and it wouldn't surprise me if we didn't qualify.

The interplay we saw in the first half v Montenegro between Ox Clevz Rooney and Welbeck is what I want to see personally, not Gerrard hoofing it hoping someone gets on the end of it or we may as well play Andy Carrol up top and he should be nowhere near an international team that wants to play football

Roy had us controlling position in the first half, sure he wanted the players to retain possesion second half...

Unless you though his team talk was....knock it long stevie

Erm who's idea was it to drop deep despite Montenegro putting more attackers on?

Hard to keep the ball when you're camped in your own half getting closed down.

Not one of your intelligent comments that Fellaini.

So you know Roy said drop deep?

Why didn't the team captain suggest a higher line to his defence.....

Not your best moment really red

England need to fill team with 6foot+ players and play long ball tactics. We're not good enough for anything else

Beckham--Lampard----Baines
------Lambert----Carroll

Long ball tactics, plenty of crosses into box, aerial threats up for set pieces.
