it now means that instead of having
thursday - basel
sunday everton
thursday basel
sunday chelsea
we now have
thursday - basel
sunday everton
thursday basel
sunday rest
i think this could work out for us as it would give us a nice break after the second basel game.
i assume the chelsea game will be reaaranged for the midweek after the original date.. so chesea will have just had their fa cup semi and we would be fresh. could work out for us..
it also means we can fully focus on getting the job done in that second basel game and avoiding any stupid slip ups.
the little break could be a welcome recharge of our batteries before a hectic final month of the season where we will need the squad as fit and focused as possible.
exciting times.
the chelsea game being moved? good or bad?

I disagree with you there. If Arsenal concentrate soley on the league, they'll come back fighting strong. Also, the Europa would be a great platform for their youngsters.

interesting point. and valid too.
but i think my point is still holds.
chelsea finishing out the top 4 achieves what? a bit of laughing at them and thats it.
they still have the financial muscle to hold on to all their players and wave 180 grand under the noses of some of the worlds top players.
arsenal cant do that, and if they finish outside the top 4 then they definately cant do that.

Remember now Utd are out they have a revenge match v Chelsea and nothing to lose v Arsenal

True Chronic.
At least if Chelsea do not qualify they will struggle to get the top echelon of talent. Well, probably not, money talks.
Arsenal and Wenger on the other hand would probably spend all of that 50 million they have available, which is something that they would not do if they qualified.

Not true, even Abramovich will not be able to fall foul of the new rules, and if they are not in the CL, their revenue streams will be hit massively. What it will mean however is that their salaries will probably outstrip income and that is where their problems will start.

The irony of the G00n situation : their rivals depend on Spurs.
If they lose a CL slot to Spurs, that will probably cause root and branch change. Otherwise they just continue on their 4th place Cup way (which is just how the others would like it to remain) .
Roman will just try to spend Chelsky out of Europa trouble (until the UEFA FFP stuff has real teeth) .

Chronic - Arsenal haven't been able to hold on to their best players when they've been finishing 3rd, so 5th would be a major blow to them (albeit they haven't got a Van Persie or a Fabregas who's gonna walk season). I agree with RDBD, if they miss out on CL, look for major changes in personnel at all levels at the smelly place over the summer.

The only definite dates available for the Chelsea game is 8th may. Only way other dates become available is if neither club makes the Europa semis or final as those dates are scheduled to be on the 25th April, 2nd may and 15th may.
Means we have a better idea of where we stand in regards to arsenal who would have played that game in hand. This has the potential to be a brilliant end of season.... Or an awful one

Abramovich supports FFP. Interesting to see if Chelsea finish 5th, whether he will still be in favour of it.

Loopholes all over the place. Saw on your board that PSG made a €5m loss last season due to €125m income from 'other' revenues. Platini playing dumb like he didn't suspect anything means that PSG will probably get away with it unless the other clubs such as Malaga, man city and Chelsea flag it up

I hope FFP will help both of us if it works, Ledley. I have some faith that if a club like PSG break the rules the real European heavyweights like Bayern and Man Utd will put enough pressure on Platini and UEFA to make sure clubs comply.
