Don't really want to comment about last night's shambles of a performance - Gallas looks like he's taking most of the blame but I thought the whole 11 were pretty embarrassing.
It's becoming increasingly clear that when Bale and, even more so, Lennon don't play we are desperately lacking players to play out wide. Which Brings me to Sigurdsson, Dempsey and Holtby. I feel they are far too similar. I think they would all prefer to play in the hole behind the striker but are being deployed into all sorts of positions where they are perhaps not comfortable.
I know a striker is very much the priority in the summer but surely a couple of back up wingers has to be looked in to. I'm assuming Townsend will be one but we surely need another.
As for the 3 players mentioned - we need to sell Dempsey (I still don't know what he is-striker/midfielder/wide player?) Siurdsson has quietly impressed lately but it remains to be seen where his best position is for him to impose himself on a game. Holtby - I feel the jury is still out on this one. There's too much of the headless chicken about him and again what is his best position?
Lacking in wide areas

The thing I hate about the Townsend deal we are paying 60% of his wages. How's is this a good deal for us?
Sherwood and levy need to have a good sit down in the summer about leaving us too short of players. Very poor decision making.

It's such a shame we cannot recall players like Townsend and Rose. I mean recalling the pair would have brought some salvation to our current issues.

All the stats are there.
If the PL breakdown is in the final third of the season, then loans of certain players in Jan that do not allow for reasonable recall cannot be sanctioned.
So Rose to Sunderland was ok, as that was made at the beginning of the season. But Townsend to QPR would not be permitted.

Another option there Chicken The reason I mentioned mine was that Naughton IMO was shakey in the first half.
But we did make a meal of it yesterday

This is irrespective of his performance, but how unlucky was he not to score?
Two great efforts on goal.

Those were sweet strikes! I thought he deserved a goal for hitting the ball so cleanly

That first one was so unlucky because, not only was it going in, but on another day the defender could have deflected it further away from the keeper and into the corner - instead of wide.

Chicken that's our luck eh mate! 2 fantastic strikes that don't go in, a practically open goal missed, then our star man flucks his right ankle up in the last minute of the game
