What a wonderful day!

The sun's shining, the birds are singing and I've just decided to bunk off work early to go on the lash.

Because for some reason, I now feel all happy and celebratory.

Can't think why.......

(And it's got nowt to do with football. )

See, even in death, the evil old bag's still starting arguments.

Clegg, if you can hear me up on your high horse, I stand by everything I have posted.

I've been waiting for her to die a (hopefully long drawn-out and) painful death for over a quarter of a century now an d now it's finally happened.

And that makes me happy.

Sorry if you don't like it, but hey...that's life.

And I'm not alone. That evil old tv vat and her policies are responsible for the mess we're in now.

She created the likes of Mick Philpott and his feckless ilk with her unsustainable Maynardian (is that even a word?) fiscal policy and now, almost 30 years on, we're paying the price.

She was a unt and I'm glad the old sow is dead.

No, not been brewing on it all day, just a little thing called work got in the way. Maggies not ruined my business i guess .
Why you getting so hot and bothered anyway ? Is the op paying you to fight his own battles for him ?
I dont confess to being the greatest supporter of all time, just merely answering a question you asked. You had no effect on me btw , im not that way inclined sailor boy

Nope, I'm not paying him. More than capable on my own, thanks. <ok?

And it's never very convincing when somebody writes a response that ends "You haven't got to me ! Honest!"

Oh yeah, and good work on the casual homophobia in the last line.

She'd be proud of you.

I hate MT and will not shed a tear for the old bag but this comment....

by that logic you're absolving Hitler of the murder of 6m Jews in europe

Oh dear. To even place Thatcher and Hitler in the same sentence is an insult to Jews. That comment needs retracting!!

Wow, ive gone from being a daily mail reader to an alleged homophobe in the space of a few hours. She would be proud
However, " shes a **** , im glad the old sows dead. Wow!!. Ill say it again, to wish death on someone and using it as an excuse to go out and have a party is truly sickening. I loathe Sir Alex Ferguson with an unreal passion, i detest Blair and Brown equally but i would never wish death on them.
I know for a fact some people are proud of me, i doubt that applies to you TC.

You obviously don't "hate" the people you list then.

Hate is a very strong word.

Please don't misuse it.

And if the fact that I'm glad she's dead and had a few pints to celebrate makes you ashamed to support the same team as me and you are sickened by it......you need to toughen up a bit, love and get out there in the real world.......

Burden63, Why bother about closing all the mines?????
Well I don't know where you live but because of the closure of the pits, many communities much small and more isolated than Bolton, lost in some cases, their jobs, their pride and most of the up and coming youngsters, who then had no choice but to move away in search of employment.

To say my father was one of a generation who didn't want their sons to go down the pit, is at the least a bit of a sweeping statement. My brother went down the mine, I didn't but I'm talking about pits in general and in some areas there wasn't a choice for most. If Sir Bobby Robson, was still alive, you could ask him about that. He went down the pit because there was nothing else for him until he got the chance to play football. It was the same for many, simply take a job in the pit or move away from your family and loved ones. You can imagine, in a small community that wasn't always possible because there simply wasn't the funds available to make that happen in many cases.

I have seen what happened to some of those communities and I can tell you it wasn't a good thing but Maggie didn't care. She was looking after her own.

These communities wanted to work, not collect dole money that would hardly keep them and took away their pride.

Super white why don't you feel the same about Harold Wilson and Tony Benn who closed far more pits than MT. Why all the synthetic sympathy for the miners, why are they any different than Bolton's cotton workers, shoe makers in Northampton, lace workers in Nottingham etc. There is nothing special about miners or their communities, they were lead by an idiot and they lost

The 'shovels' observation would surely apply to most places north of Watford, not just Scotland!

Burnden63 qualify your statement by some facts and reference points as I haven't heard that one before.

You seem to be forgeting Maggie didn't only close the mines she closed car manufacturers and steel works. Those industries were replaced by the financial and service sectors and look where the banks took us. To the very edge. Of course the Torries will blame it on the Labour government but if that is correct, why on earth is the problem global? WE all know who really caused the problem, the banks.
