Shamefully stolen from another forum but:
The Lady's not for returning.
I've never liked Thatcher since the challenge on Pedro Mendes
A real reason to celebrate, enjoy your night out. Now comes the revisionism in the media, revise this she was a unt.

I had to turn the radio off in the car on the way home from work because I was shouting at it so loudly I nearly crashed on the M61...
Although there is some balance in the press:

There was always going to be one and unfortunately its me but i am clearly missing the humour here

Evenin' Wolfie.
Wie gehts?
See, you get thumped by us on Saturday and you're all grumbly and down and then this happens.
And everything's good again.
Yeah Tony a sad, sad day ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Saturday.......
but a brilliant one today
Id say i hope you choke on your drinks but that would lower me to your level
No love for Maggie at all. However in the last 15 years I have found SAF far more offensive and can't wait....
Thatcher did as many good things for the country as bad, many of the bad however are sadly easier to remember. She will remain a figure who divides opinion for many years to come.
However, regardless of personal opinion of her, I find celebrating the death of anybody distasteful. If she was a figure like Idi Amin or similar who murdered many people and rained misery down on countless more I could understand those whose lives were affected feeling the need to celebrate, even if I would still feel uneasy about it.
But Thatcher was nothing more than a leader (democratically elected) who made some tough and unpopular choices. At least she had the courage and backbone to stick to her guns, unlike the current shower who view politics as a popularity contest and have no interest in actually trying to serve the people of this country and make it a better place.
Rant over!
jobly,wanderers
My comments were aimed at the political person, not the human one and of course I send my condolences to her family. A tenuous excuse you may say but being part German I have relatives who will tell you of the wisdom of having a healthy disrespect for poiticians and the great danger in putting them on a pedestal.
At the risk of offending your sensibilities more I must say I'm very much against a State Funeral - poiticians are politicians, not minor royalty.
Not that I'm a monarchist of course.
Wolfy, cheers for the response but my comment was not aimed at you but the OP whose thread made me ashamed that i support the same team as him.
I am far from part of any PC brigade but toasting and rejoicing in someones death is sickening.
And for what its worth good luck to the Wolves for the rest of the season
It's been good chatting to you Trotters jobly - genuinely hope you keep your push going and make the playoffs

FFS Jobly! What has Bolton Wanderers got to do with it????? You could've just passed by this thread and left it alone, but you chose to post a comment on it! Your comment has made me quite angry and in fact made me angrier than the thread your attacking! Easy for you to tarnish people with the same brush then eh Jobly? Maybe you should get out from behind your Daily Mail and look at the bigger picture!!!! Shame on you bringing Bolton Wanderers into this thread. Some kind of supporter you are!
Possibly because its on a BWFC page
Let the Iron lady rust in peace.
WF, she was a politician you either loved or loathed. My father was a miner so you don't need to ask my thoughts on her.
