Chief Milly

Hi guys, not much going on these forums apart from the Maynard saga and folk disliking the 'lack' of action from Milly and it's that which has been bugging me recently.

Tbh I like Milly, he's a good honest manager and has got the team clicking reasonably well. He can't shift the players he doesn't want but hey, if I was a fan of another club and and we bought Hunt after his season at the mighty BCFC, I'd be wondering what the hell the manager had been smoking. So our only option is for the players to rip up their own contracts but who in this day and age does that unless it's to fuel the players own ambition.

People also say Milly's done nothing in regards to getting a defender, tbh I think he's worked his socks off and because of him I think is why it took Spence so long to sign a new contract with the Hammers. All the defenders Milly has tried to get have all been Premier bound apart from Spence who should be playing Premier football next season and the guy who went to Cardiff (the name escapes me) but he'd worked with the Mackay before so no wonder why we lost that one too. Maybe Milly was being over ambitious wanting those players but I won't fault him for trying as that's exactly what people have been crying out for years, Milly tries and everyone moans.

If people are also saying we should have a top class manager who should be able to get these players I think are dreaming as getting a manager of that calibre would cost us a lot in wages, they'd want a guaranteed transfer kitty and a big sum for wages for his shiny players and we can't afford any of that with the bloat we have! Milly may not be long term material but he is exactly what we need now and I hope he does do well and then becomes long term material.

This season is Milly's season and I can see it going well (no play offs in my mind though). We've all heard of one (at least) team in the Championship which lost all their pre-season friendlies then stormed the league? Surely that's an omen and an incentive for our players.

Peace out and good to hear your thoughts on Milly from both sides of the camp.

Best article Iv read on any BCFC forum in a long while. Top to toe common sense as far as I'm concerned, nice to see someone with something good to say about the club, articles like this are few and far between. <Applause>

Salute you mate great post & Millen in my opinion has made the correct moves so far with signings & to get Jordan Spence on loan again after West Ham went down is a testiment to the respect he has from bigger managers.

And there we have proof of what you are saying - the return of Spence.
And he is returning BECAUSE of Millen, not in spite of him.
