Has Wenger ever tried playing Podolski in Giroud's position?
Podolski: +Pace +Power +Accuracy(better than Giroud) +German
-Cannot play full match -Injury prone
Giroud: +Strength +Header +Power
-Dribbling - Slow reaction time
This team will definitely make arsenal win a cup :

So you're telling me Iniesta would be as creative for Stoke as he is for Barca?

yes.
as football is a one man show.

Like others? Giroud divides opinion, some fans like him, others don't, so no, most don't have the same views as you.
"yes. he just wouldnt get as many assists. its like last year with ramsey. he created the 2nd most chances in our team but barely got any assists because most of the chances he created were to the, then, ever wasteful walcott."

omg I don't even know where to start with that comment.
For starters, Stoke wouldn't have anywhere near as much of the ball as Barca do, so Iniesta automatically becomes less creative. So you're already wrong and I won't bother going into further detail.

1/ based on Giroud's form right now, Poldi deserves a chance (another chance) at least
2/ I don't believe Poldi is a better striker than Giroud, but his link up is absolutely better, no question about this
3/ Poldi did not play left wing for Koln. He played behind the striker or had a free role. You tell me who played striker when Novakovic was not playing?
4/ IMO, we play a 4-4-2 or 4-2-1-1 will suit both Poldi and Giroud most and can be the most lethal 1-2 punch in the EPL. Too bad Wenger won't try

IMO Podolski could grow into the role if he's given time, he has a similar skill set to Robin van Persie, both similar sort of frames, not the quickest but can definitely get into space, capable of scoring and assisting, playing one touch football, back to goal etc. Podolski has a little less technical ability but is a more powerful player.
If you recall van Persie also struggled as the focal point towards the end of 08/09 and start of 09/10 seasons ... however he grew into the role after 8 games or so and has since been playing the best football of his career. I think Podolski is definitely capable of the switch, it's just a question of whether it would benefit the team in the long run? I personally quite like his contributions from the left, but in certain games we need a bit more creativity in the wide areas (a Mata-style player for instance) and I think with Podolski and Walcott we don't quite get that. May be worth experimenting with it next pre-season.

That is what I always said on here. We need to change our formation a bit from time to time. I have nothing to try Poldi in OG's position allthough I dont believe he would be as affective when he is playing from the middle like he did in Köln or on the wing.
I wanted to add that I appreciate the debate between Kamran and Rev for most of the time on this thread. Always trying to argue and to convince each other and inbetween a fecking German without being unpolite or throwing with insults around. More of that please

God Rev is an idiot.
While I don't particularly rate Giroud. The guy has a simple minded way of going about things.
Posting stats is his idea of proving someone wrong.
