IT'S OFFICIAL JORDAN SPENCE BK

Greatest defensive loan signing. I'm chuffed Millen and the team were able to get Jordan Spence bk on a year long loan. H e only had one bad game last season whilst at our club and that was the televised game against Norwich but in all fairness we all played badly that game. But apart from that game Jordan looked every bit of the under 21 England player with the experience and hunger & confidence. Just need Nicky to sign and the future will look a lot brighter for us...

Massive signing! When WHU went down I thought he'd start for them this year tbh, glad we pulled this off!

Our defense is still a long way from sorted, but this is a great start

I think this demonstrates Millens desire to only bring in players that he believes will improve the team.

He could easily have signed half a dozen defenders by now. Clearly he wont panic and does not want to get sub-standard players in.

Well done Millen & Wiggy

Perhaps those who were panicing over no defensive signings will now stop and think - the ONLY players KM has tried to sign are those who he believes are capable of making us a far better team - Caulker, Jones, Spence, Taylor he didn't want,as he said repeatedly, to sign players for the sake of making a signing.
Well done on getting Spence to return on a loan and lets hope he decides he wants to stay afterall we could always offer Big Sam one of his old players back - He's going really cheap Big SAM and you know how much you enjoyed playing him.

Sorry I forgot there were a couple of others we were interested in who went off to Premiership clubs.

Thing is Hawky, he cant afford to sign anything which is not nailed on first choice, because the previous managers filled up our roster with hit or miss efforts (although they did both also sign some very good players ie Cisse, Adomah, Maynard etc)
That is why Millen has to be cautious and cannot afford to take any chances. I think this will be to his advantage eventually, but means it is taking slightly longer for him to assemble what will hopefully be a promotion squad. I think it is a good habit to get into in trying for only those who are a step up. It will make us leaner, and more powerful.

BRR I agree I just think some of our fans think we can go out and sign whoever we want, and it's not only our fans who need a reality check in that department, Afterall we are a Champiojnship side that wants to get promoted without setting ourselves up for a catastrophic financial fall, been there done that don't want to go through it again.
So far things look reasonable except for the lack of another LB and strong CB to replace Carey(which we have to do soon) Wigs and Millie don't seem to be the sort of people who will panic into making signings for the sake of it so like you I think it will be all to the good for City in the long run.
If we get off to a reasonable start everything will be sweetness and light so lets hope thats the way it goes.
