people saying rubbish like van persie deserves a trophy, he does not have left e.t.c. fact of the matter is, i believe with vp in our team this season, i strongly believe we could of challenged for the title. points were dropped at start. we had the best defence, which was the only weak point of our side of previous seasons, but due to giroud needing to settle in we couldnt score goals. im not saying we were guarenteed to win it, but one of the reasons, we were considered over reliant last season was due to absence of fabregas (playmaker/ best playmaker in world bar non when he was here) which was filled by cazorla. if we didnt win it this season, havin vp in the team would have contributed massivly to who we could get in the summer, we could get world class stars, as our team as a whole can be agreed on being one of the strongest out their bar our wingers . so for people saying he was not going to win trophys. that is bull. van persie probally knew this, but only gives 2 bits about himself, hence the excuses. i prob gonna get a lot of hate, but i am not wumming. this is my genuine opinion. sorry about spelling, busy but felt the need to write this to shut up all the bull articles about, vp being seen as good guy. Judas.
fact of matter is, we have very simiar goals for and goals against compared to manu, and it was the big games that let us down which is when we need our world class players (vp to step up) for 2nd half of the season we are the strongest team in the league bar none
You dont understand

RVP

Totally agree with RVP Arsenal would have had at least a shot of challenging for the title.
Goals win games (well duh...) and the one thing Arsenal lack is a striker who will guarantee that. In spite of the reputation that Arsenal are cack in defence (there are instances where this can be backed up, ephatically at times), the defensive record this season is actually pretty good! It's more a case of one too many individual errors and a blatant lack of a 'holding midfielder' that hinders Arsenal in a defensive capacity.
Arsenal sold RVP, a proven Premier League goalscorer, on of the best strikers in world football. Replacing him was a thankless task really. Unless the club went out and spent 25 million upwards on a replacement it was at best 'hopeful' that they'd get a replacement of similar standard.
Hopefully the club puts that right this summer. And as for RVP, yeah he's never going to be flavour of the month with Arsenal fans and his memory will always be tainted, but that's life, move on. He's a Utd player, get down and focus on supporting Arsenal players, RVP is the past, look to the future.

Oh come on, this was being said the season after Fabregas left.

bull. van persie is your only great player. fabregas was over twice the player van persie was. with out van persie you would have not won the league fact. we are not that far of city relative so it was a posibility.

Actually without RVP we probably still would have, there is a BBC article where if you take the top goalscorer from each club away, MUFC are still first. Arsenal are second, City third.

We have more than one great player.

Also, RVP half the player Fab was?
RVP contributes to 19 points for us (According to the graph in the link above), Fabregas contributes to how many points from the Barca bench?
RVP is world class. You can't say the same about Fabregas
