Mark Hateley believes that Scottish football can only be saved by doing the following:
“If someone was hired to run a newly unified league body in Scotland, if I was being interviewed for that job, the first thing I would want is Rangers back in the top tier. You need to reconstruct from top to bottom and that would be my way forward. People are going to say I’m only saying that because I played for Rangers, but I am looking at it honestly.
“Nobody wants to associate themselves with the SPL at the moment. You can do anything with reconstruction, you have a blank canvas. So you do what is right for Scottish football and that is having your best football clubs in your top tier. That attracts all the good things football needs."
Ok. Forgetting any of the clear problems that this would bring perhaps there is a point in this - so...
The question is if YOU were in charge and the plan was for a 12 team SPL...
Who are the top 12 teams in Scotland?
Is it as simple as the current SPL + Partick and Morton? What about Rangers who is excluded?
Are Falkirk potentially a bigger club than Dundee?
Should Hamilton be included rather than St Mirren?
What is the best 12 in Scotland that could take the league forward??
You are the Boss of Scottish Football

Yeah I do go to games. Most folk I sit beside and my mates etc are bored with it. They'd jump at the chance of avoiding another couple of dead rubber seasons.
Yes we would get pumped just now. But why would that be any different from a couple of seasons time?
It's just self flagelating stubbornness to say you wouldn't want to go back to the top division next season.

Dont want back at the moment
But not a lot to fear in truth, did we not play the current champions of the SPL on Monday with a team of children and beat them.
Imagine we had played out first 11.

i think some are perhaops thinking that because the football is dire
if we had a manager that was progressive and had us playing exciting football then i think some fans would be happy to see it out and get back there on merit
everyone gets bored with boring fitba, even if winning leagues
i was delighted when smith was leaving because the fitba was that bad it'd stun pigs
in saying that mccoist is just as bad
he's picked up all of walters bad habits and got worse with them and picked up none of his good ones
