Just seen this comment from a BBC blog on Phil Brown and Preston:
"In conversation it quickly becomes obvious that Brown wants the pressure of an expectant and large crowd. Last season he watched Sheffield Wednesday labour to a 1-0 win over Leyton Orient at Hillsborough. He noted how quickly the crowd got on the back of the home team, who struggled to cope with the pressure to succeed."
Will it be any different this season? Given the negative tone of the postings on here I doubt it.
Come on chaps, new season, new defence and midfield, first full season for our new manager and owner, chance to take another six points from the piglets..................let's be 'avin yer......................

I'm sorry to have to break this to you guys but if last season is anything to go by visiting teams will come to Hillsborough to park the bus in front of goal and get the fans frustrated. The fans then start booing our lads get nervous and work out the rest for yourselves.....

Spot on Mike With our lack of fire power due to inability to bring in new players in this area, I can't see us winning any games by more than the odd goal which could well take ages to get.
I have a sneaky feeling we'll get Roberts once the match against Rochdale is out of the way!

That's exactly what Phil Brown was talking about in the OP, and it's not the first time we've heard that from an 'outsider'. So if we KNOW that opposition sides will do that, they why do we give them the ammunition?

Personally, I'm more worried about the lack of wingers, especially with the injury to JJ! Madine and Morrison should be ok up front if they can stay fit!
