If all the rumours are true, by the very very end of this season, Nigel Clough could be the 4th longest serving manager in the WHOLE of the football league!

I'm on a course/assessment today to get my master tech qualification, if I get it, sorry, when I get it, I'll be more qualified to do the job I've been doing for the last 10 years. Peugeot also subsidise our garage more as there is a master tech working there, and I get a pay rise, so its good news all round but again, all for the sake of a course and a certificate.
Rob, if its going to leave you out of pocket then I wouldn't bother, but if the club are going to subsidise you then you might as well do it, that's my theory anyway, if its free, why not. What I'm doing now is subsidised by peugeot/my garage, including travel costs, food for the day etc, its not costing me anything and makes me look better to the powers that be.

Iwas - yes you should because (a) it doesnt make money for the FA but (b) will enable your CHARTERED club to get hold of various FA funded benefits - free balls, subsidised goals etc and (c) includes emergency 1st Aid.
Every youth coach should get the level 1 coaching qualification. Its a doddle, quite good fun and (apart from the courses being run on Sundays when your team should be playing) no hassle.
There is no need to go any further than level 1 unless you want to. I've got level 2 and upgraded first aid. I rarely use the level 2 but did have occasion to use the first aid this year when a lad had a heart attack on the pitch. He survived thanks to our intervention. He might not have done otherwise.
By not doing it you, your club and the players are potentially losing out. Ask yourself this one question - what would you do if someone collapsed on the pitch. If you cant answer properly, go do the course!

Peeder, I have first aid, child protection and CRB but i haven't got the Level 1.
It's time that I really don't want to spend on something I don't benefit from. Park pitches that my team play on already have goals, i do not get any balls from the FA, I have to buy my own, same goes for all kit.
I also coach cricket and have a level one ECB coaching certificate. I went on this course because I didn't play cricket.
Sport is far to bureaucratic, a certificate means didily squat.

Youre not allowed to take a football session on your own without a level 2 coach present! Level 1 is a doddle but you cant really do anything without level 2

If that is true Clarke-ram then most teams are breaking an utterly stupid rule.
