Rooney

I think Rooney is class! He may not be on the scoresheet as much, but if you watch him play, he often plays from deep and his influence is still just as strong from there. I would take Rooney in a shot. But there is no chance of Rooney coming to us, due to several reasons:

1) Man U will ask for no less than £40m for him
2) His wages
3) He will have top clubs in Spain, France, Italy and Germany asking for his signature, who are also likely to pay his high wages
4) Levy is bald and does not believe in hair transplants

I could see him playing for Bayern but they really don't need him. They've got quality players coming out of their ears. This was their bench against Barca:

I think the transfers are going to be very interesting this year. Once one goes through somewhere it'll kickstart a whole bunch of others.

I think Barca should take Aguero. City will take Rooney, would United then strengthen with Falcao? If they did who would Chelsea go for?

Arsenal are obviously not famous for ever really spending that big, but supposedly have a big warchest plus this new kit deal to finance themselves? Spurs are obviously going to attempt to strengthen to but if we miss CL that could be tougher.

Despite their lower league position these days Liverpool still have a draw about them, but are they going to be able to hold onto Suarez?

City are also going to have a clear out. Rumoured to be selling around 9 players! Can other teams take advantage of this?

Bayern have a mental squad, the area I can see them wanting to strengthen is the striker though. Gomes, Madzukic and Pizzaro whilst good finishers don't feel like amazing all round strikers to me...

Gomez was building himself something of a reputation but doesn't even seem to be first choice anymore...

Would fancy Rooney over those 3 myself.

Don't think Rooney will leave for City unless money is main objective. I honestly think Rooney will end up in Spain or France (Coleen will have some say in this).

Of the 3 I'd say mandzukic is the best all-rounder. He's got the work ethic and can finish whereas Gomez is just a poacher and Pizarro is a backup player for cup games I suspect. We can only speculate about how Rooney might feel about playing abroad, maybe that theory was partly due to not wanting to take coleen's late sister away from the local area?

Someone on here said they'd rather have Lukaku than Rooney?

I know a lot of Spurs fans, and we've said for a while that you need that extra quality up top.

Rooney would be a great signing, but I don't see what he'd gain from joining Spurs. He's at that stage of his career where he probably wants to kick on and, with respect, he'd need to have different reasons for joining Spurs.

But if he was to leave United, I'd like to see him at Spurs - I think he'd be great.

The Rooneys of this world implicitly price themselves out of the reach of the likes of Spurs.
