Our close neighbours FC 'Fax have made the playoff final in the Blue Square North league, with the prize of a place in the last league before division two recognition !
It's ironic that for all those years, while they had '4th division' status, Halifax Town & their facilities were ..lets be honest, a bit of a Joke ! Now, years of non league status has seen them steadily rebuild both the team & more importantly the home ground into what has to be the best facility they have ever had, & without doubt, better now than most clubs who occupy the present '2nd division'...covered on all 4 sides, ample seating, a 'shed' behind both goals..... they are trying

I suspect quite a few Town fans have a 'soft spot' for the Shaymen, & will be willing them on during Sundays Final at Brackley .

Brackley missed out on Auto ending up 3rd in the league & having to overcome Altringham in the playoffs (3-1 over 2 legs)

Halifax ended the season 5th, on 75 points, but had a horrendous backlog of fixtures to complete during the last month of the season, competing in 14 games in 32 days !
They ended up a massive 16 points behind opponents Guiseley , who they defeated in the playoffs..1-1 at the Shay, 2-0 away at Guiseley !

Bit of a farce I reckon, but the final is to be held at Brackley. that has to be home town advantage, But Brady the manager reckons Brackley are the 'underdogs' ! ?
The home side have struggled to attract above 400 as a home average this season,
The final is limited to a 2,500 capacity, FC Halifax were issued & sold all their 1000 allocation. I'm assured that that 1000 will make one hell of a racket & make it 'feel' like a home tie at the Shay .

So er..hmm.
