Just been thinking Carra - great servant. No one can begrudge someone who has always given 100% for the club. However it still got me wondering how come the likes of Scholes and Giggs ( both of whom arn't regulars anymore) STILL put their club before their own needs/wants to play. Even now you get the feeling neither will retire until getting the green light from Sir Alex first.
So just wondering if people think its more down to:
- Carra's personality?
- Brendan's Man management?
- Our Clubs lack of total servant mentality/ethos?
- The lack of history between Carra/Brendan ?
I personally think its a bit of all of them but ethier way it's a shame as I think Carra is retiring at least 1 season too early, which is a real shame.
Man Management of Old Pros?

He's leaving on his own terms, simple as that. He was getting loads of stick earlier in the season, he showed his usual character and made himself first choice again. I glad he's leaving now, when people will rember his good form...

carragher has probably had more physical work than giggs or scholes.
what he lacked in talent he more than made up for in determination, which sadly means the body takes the brunt of that

The dressing room will be the worse for it, you can't underestimate what players like carra, giggs etc bring.

I think Brendan turned to Carra as a last resort, the team had a total lack of spine and leadership and Carra footed the bill. The price that was paid though was the defence dropped back to the penalty area and teams exploit the gap between midfield and defence.
In order to play Brendan's way Carra needs to be replaced and I think Carra recognises that and has stood aside so fair play to him. Good luck to Brendan in finding a worthy successor, it won't be easy at all.

Interesting comments on SSN today that Rodgers has said he has no intention of selling Skrtel in the summer. I can only think he'd be kept as a reserve though, it would be strange if he came back in alongside Agger as first choice.

Giggs probably needs the money after his obscene shenanigans outside of football.
In that respect I think it's Giggs asking Fergie to keep him on.

Since the creation of the Premier League, the greatest player to adorn it has been one man, head and shoulders above all of the rest: Ryan Giggs. jimmyTheRed
