Where does he rank amongst Europe top defensive players? Over the last couple of month for me he was the best CB in PL but still think Kompany is better due to his leadership, although Koscielny is improving on that aspect.
But amongst Europe, where would you put him?

Barzagli and Dante aren't anything special individually, but they play for teams who control the vast majority of their games and do their defending in midfield. Not bad players, but not outstanding imo.
