EVERTON FC are set to be priced out of a move for Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton.
The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to Goodison Park after he was told he could leave Tyneside on a free transfer, and sources close to the player believe he would relish a return to Merseyside.
But EFC would be unable to meet Barton’s wage demands, and with Arsenal, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Stoke also monitoring his situation in the North-East, a return to the club he played for as a school-boy is unlikely.

Your response to anyone who gives you an opposite point is to insult them.Not clever.
No one except the club....etc etc knows whats going on. you could qualify for a job at the club your that quick on the uptake.
I know his contract is running down,as is his fee.
