Spurs have also baulked at his demands as well apparently.

Incidentally, how many players have Spurs signed this transfer window?

not to be disrespectful to everton fans but if the rumours are true, barton has his pick of arsenal, liverpool, spurs, maybe even united. even if everton could afford his wages i don't think he would of ended up there

Could Bill use his undoubted skills in the boardroom to negotiate a deal, whereby the club letting the player go can pay us to take him.

Just imagine, the amount of players we have been in for, but not signed,we could have the debt paid off in no time.

JB would like to end his career at Everton. He has made it clear that he would take a pay cut but his salary is so high that it would have to be a significant pay cut.

Moyes wants to take Barton and he will try his best to get him. It could be a case of getting him in and moving a player out.

Don't be surprised to see him wearing royal blue for the start of the season. It all depends upon what Everton can put together..

From a good source.

Was surprised to see Upson is available on a free, maybe £15 million for Jags and Upson in on a free would be a good bit of business. Reading the BBC website though it suggests that these free transfers are asking stupid wages thinking that because the clubs aren't paying a transfer fee they will offer them stupid wages, maybe the first sign of the clubs putting their feet down? Hitlsperger in the same situation having been offered money by Sunderland but turned it down according to the BBC

Upson?

Not when we have got Eric Dier playing this season

Mr Best Ever Chairman,

I think the point would be relative to any player, regardless if it was Barton or another player.

No matter how good the free transfer.

If he was that good, someone would have snapped him up already.

He had an ok season last season, but he's still atwat.

He's disuptive, unpredictable and we shouldn't touch him with a barge pole, even if he is on a free and even if he is a Blue.

Mr Humphires was always free but you wouldn't sign him.
