Danny Berbatov?

Danny Welbeck is going to be one of the best strikers we've ever produced. I've always been a big fan of his (I think his goal on his debut really caught me), and have tried to keep a close eye on him and his development. His playing style is so similar to Berbatov's it's shocking. Was I the only one who gasped audiably at those two crazy control and turns he did in the Cosmos box within 5 minutes of each other. He's also faster than a hiccup and can play out wide too, so lots of strings to his bow (and some even Berbagoal doesn't have). I absolutely love Dimitar Berbatov, but at this stage of his career, with PSG offering £20m (TWENTY MILLION QUID!) for him allegedly, and him not being automatic first choice any more, I think selling him has just become much more thinkable an option. I'm aware that without him, we wouldn't have won the PL last season, and that Welbeck needs to be in flying form to compare to Berbatov, which he won't be all season, but if push came to shove, if you were in man or woman to make the call, wouldn't you really keep him around to getin the way of a younger and hungry player?

I'm really on the fence with it tbh. He's awesome, was PL's top scorer and even as a bit part, would score 10-15 goals for certain in the season, he'd be an amazing player to help the young strikers in training. Or get the PSG cash (story might be bull, so this could all be pointless speculation) and invest in other areas of the team, and allow Danny Welbeck to take over a season earlier than planned, which I have to say, he's ready to do in all aspects of his game, except that he takes too long to shoot and they can bit rather...erratic?

thoughts please...

...I'm always trying to be yoda it's a curse that I've had to live with ever since I saw the little green b*gger! Yeah RVN was worth MUCH more than the £5 and a pack of skips we got for him.

Berbatov is ten times the player of Welbeck, a cultured and widely misunderstood player, I assumed the OP was saying Welbeck was an immediate replacement for Berbatov, he is the kind of player you don't miss till he is gone.

*sigh*
If I thought Welbeck was an immidiate replacement for Dimitar, why would I be on the fence with £20m being offered for Berbatov?

You sir, either did not read what I typed properly, and arenow trying to save face by being abusive and dismissive.

Are trying to start arguments because you are bored and lonely and have nothing else to do.

Or you're disability is really coming through now and you should take a deep breath, try and relax, and do your very best to find

THE LIVERPOOL BOARD.

Ok, so what exactly are you basing the statement "Danny Wellbeck is going to be one of the best ever strickers we've ever produced" on?

posted on 5/8/11

On the performances I've watched him give over his short career so far, and the potential I've seen in him. What else would I base it on? Maybe if you checked

THE LIVERPOOL BOARD

you would get a

HINT

as to how to see talent in young players. Your manager seems to think that

LIVERPOOL FANS LIKE YOU

should be very excited about

YOUR OWN PLAYERS

who are young and going to take over from your current first team. So half a big bite, do you have any more questions you'd like to ask me, or would you now like to

F.C.O.F
.U.K.F.

Probably his opinion and fact we haven't produced man great strikers. Certainly not in the few decades.

and why does he have to be an instant replacement for Berbatov for him to end up one of the best strikers we've produced? Didier Drogba certainly wasn't world class at Danny Welbecks age, only burn out, pace-only strikers are great at 19-20 usually.

So this is basically based on one half decent season with Sunderland? interesting............. Henderson anyone?

You may not have heard of him before then but he's been playing for a few years before that. I'm sure There's a Thought has been following him for a while from his response earlier. I was watching him in CC matches 2/3 seasons ago. I think the debut There's a Thought spoke about was against Stoke in Ronaldo's last season? Maybe he can confirm that.

Welbeck will go to Euro 2012 with England in the summer. He is THAT good. You mark my words.
