The Man Utd Attitude

One thing that makes the best players, managers or anything in fact in life is the attitude. The likes of Federer, Nadal all have a winning attitude. That ethos. If you look at our ex manager Sir Alex Ferguson, the thing that made him the best was his winning attitude. He always wanted to win, no matter the situation. This transcended into the squad and it's a reason why we came back so many times during games. The never say die attitude if you will. Manchester United, no matter the game and it's importance, must win! It's just the way. Call me plastic or whatever, but I believe we are a club of winners.

I may be reading too much into this. But it raised ever more questions in my opinion about the Moyes appointment. We lost today to a team that really is not anything special. It's a game we should "aim" to win. However, I agree it does not mean much. That's true. However, Moyes's reaction to the loss is not encouraging. He stated that "It wasn't a brilliant result but this wasn't one we desperately needed to win," Now does this statement strike you as a manager who is a winner? Yes, he may lack experience but a winning mentality is something you are born with. The question is, was Moyes?

err... this is why we win everything. What has plastic got to do with understanding this fact. Long may it continue.

and yes, today's result is meaningless.

I don't think you're a 'club of winners'

I think you had a manager who got a machine in place to convince everyone involved that winning was the only thing that mattered and anything less than full effort to win at all costs was acceptable.

And he did a brilliant job of it. Players seemed to get that extra lift / incentive without even any time under the manager in the end. People knew about the 'never say die' attitude prior to joining and acted accordingly upon arrival.

It's not a knee jerk. The OP isn't calling for Moyes out. Merely highlighting a statement he made.

Why is he highlighting the statement?

It's a forum. Plus

We spend days on end laughing at statements made by Brendan Rodgers.

It's preseason, plus.

What does brendan rodgers have to do with anything?

It' a good question the op raises actually. I thought likewise. A meaningless pre-season game in hot, humid conditions with half our first team not there even but yes we should be bothered about losing and not entertaining the huge local support.

How do you know they weren't bothered about losing. He may have said that To the press but something else to the players.

Just seems like people are tripping over themselves to slate the guy for anything.

It's pathetic
