Call me plastic or whatever, but I believe we are a club of winners.
Nothing plastic about it, the past 120 odd years of Manchester United has always been focused on winning. Sir Matt was the catalyst in this, may God rest his soul.

err... this is why we win everything. What has plastic got to do with understanding this fact. Long may it continue.
and yes, today's result is meaningless.
I don't think you're a 'club of winners'
I think you had a manager who got a machine in place to convince everyone involved that winning was the only thing that mattered and anything less than full effort to win at all costs was acceptable.
And he did a brilliant job of it. Players seemed to get that extra lift / incentive without even any time under the manager in the end. People knew about the 'never say die' attitude prior to joining and acted accordingly upon arrival.

It's not a knee jerk. The OP isn't calling for Moyes out. Merely highlighting a statement he made.
Why is he highlighting the statement?

We spend days on end laughing at statements made by Brendan Rodgers.
It's preseason, plus.
What does brendan rodgers have to do with anything?
It' a good question the op raises actually. I thought likewise. A meaningless pre-season game in hot, humid conditions with half our first team not there even but yes we should be bothered about losing and not entertaining the huge local support.
How do you know they weren't bothered about losing. He may have said that To the press but something else to the players.
Just seems like people are tripping over themselves to slate the guy for anything.
It's pathetic
