Women Managers in Football?

With the Women's Euro's being presented this summer, not many people like us turn out to watch these games at all. But I have watched a few highlights (because I've been really bored) and I have seen signs from good coaching from the sidelines.

I do feel that Women should be accepted in traditional English Men's Football and it shouldn't be divided into 2. I can understand why with players, but not managers. Why shouldn't Powell be given a chance? She knows her stuff even if England didn't make it through the Group, neither did Pearce but there is no denying he is not a good manager.

How do other people feel with Women Managers in Football? That's what I want to know. It could create more problems (i.e. Discrimination) but I don't see it being an issue at all. I think it could be influential to have a Women Manager with different experiences and tactical knowledge to maybe the Men and it may give the Women side of Management a good step up into Men's Football.

Thoughts?

How was he able to go in easier because he played reserves for a club in division 3 and nobody had heard of him? What is your reasoning for this?

He did mate. After injury ruined his career he became a youth coach at Reading down in Div 2/3. It wasn't until 2004 that Mourinho hired him at Chelsea. He started at the bottom has 20 years of coaching experience already.

Exactly, so because he did play for them, he had less difficulty in securing the youth coach job.

Fair enough. I stand corrected.

Like said before, after his injury, he got a job as a youth coach for Reading. Do you not think its a bit of a coincidence that the team who he used to play for went and offered him a place as a youth coach after his early retirment, or do you think if he was working in a shop and emailed them, he would have still got the job?

Sorry, the page wasn't refreshed when I wrote that last comment and I didn't see your own comment

What level of Men's Football would they get to though? I feel that some would at least be at Championship level. Powell especially.

If you think that one of the leading Women managers would probably get into the championship, then that shows that there isn't that much of a desperate need for women managers

But just think, I'm talking right now. Some would have the potential to get into the PL. But since they were knew to the game, maybe not just quite yet.

I'm not sure powell is championship level, she was all big talk about doing better than the mens team before the championship started and when it came to the crunch, she had nothing, she barely inspired a mediocre draw against russia.

I'm all for women managers in football if they're good enough but not in favour of doing it for the sake of equality to make up the numbers.
