Cabaye or Fellaini?

Being realistic i think we all know the bid for Fabregas is doomed to failure and i doubt Real Madrid will sell Modric either. That leaves more realistic targets like Cabaye and Fellaini who have been widely reported as back ups that Moyes will target should the bids for the likes of Cesc ultimately fail (as let's face it we all realistically expect).

So which of the two would United fans prefer? Personally i'd much prefer Fellaini. He would likely cost around £5m more but i rate him higher than i do Cabaye.

Or do United fans think that two centre mids need to be signed even if the bid for Cesc fails? If somehow the bid for Cesc is successful and he signs i'd still like to see Fellaini brought in as well.

Fellaini, it is not even a moot point.

Though, neither will be make my top-5 list, Fellaini offers more than Cabaye. Cabaye is just a more experienced Cleverly.

•••••••••••

Which is what we need since we cannot wait or develop our players right. People act like we need two defensive styled midfield in a midfield which has always struggled to drive the ball through midfield. No matter what videos or highlights, we know what fellaini is.

We will see.

That maybe so however Everton simply aren't going to sell their best player for 15m are they

Fellaini cost them around £15 million and has improved since then so he's obviously worth more than that. His buy-out clause of £24 million seems pretty fair when you see the costs of the new City players, all of whom can't claim to be better players than Fellaini.

No team will get Fellaini for £15m that's what he cost Everton as an inexperienced youngster. And United quite often overpay for players as you well know. Was Young worth £17m? Was Anderson worth £18m in 2007? Was Berba worth over £30m?

In the current market Fellaini at £22m or thereabouts isn't too far off really. He's approaching his prime.

U realise Everton paid £18m for him when he was unknown. Now he is a much better player how is he worth only £15m now.

I think fellaini would improve our midfield dramatically. He s big, strong, ball winner, can score goals and actually has a good passing range.
I have a feeling one of us, Chelsea or arsenal will activate his clause in the coming weeks

We already have a load of decent midfielders, Cabeye will just add to the number of players we have that aren't good enough when push comes to shove.

Fellaini is different because he'd offer is something we don't currently have. I'd sooner see Cleverly play than Cabeye to be honest.

Are you surprised that Jose doesn't seem interested in Fellaini? He seems like his kind of central midfield player. Or do you think the signing of Van Ginkel means he's not needed?

I must say i do like the look of Van Ginkel he looks a real talent in the making. Is it looking like Lampard, MVG, Ramires and Mikel are the centre mid options for the blues this coming season?

The thing is they are both average. To pair fellaini with Carrick will be downright stupid. Replace Carrick maybe. and completely misunderstands our problem with the midfield. It just adds redundancy.
