We all have heard about Cisse refusing to wear the 'Wonga' logo on the Newcastle shirt over his religious beliefs. As already mentioned by some on here, he has a girlfriend. Now news has come to light that he is a regular visiter to a casino. His agents may claim he doesn't gamble but just by being there it seems to show him as being hypocritical.
Both charging interest on loans (Wonga) and gambling (Aspers Casino) are considered unethical by Muslims. If he is making a stance about not wanting Wonga on his shirt, then being consistant he should also be staying away from such places as casinos.
Newcastle city councillor Dipu Ahad has previously defended Cisse's stance on Wonga.
He said: "I feel absolutely ashamed of what he's done, there's not just me there's been other people who've been supporting him."
"But what he's done now, seeing him in the casino, even if he wasn't gambling, I think this gives a wrong message.
"People will say, 'look, this is Islam they can pick and choose whatever they want', and Islam isn't about picking and choosing."
If he wants to leave, then he should come out and say it rather than using Islam as an excuse.

Religion isn't the cause of many wars and problems, the prominent cause is greed and power, religion is often used as an excuse.

Obviously greed and power are factors too but the persecution of people in various parts of the world for having minority religious beliefs is down to religion funnily enough. Throughout history over thousands of years there have been endless examples of this.

Sure there are wars and conflicts due to religion but even they are made for power and control.

"Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people"
There ain't no god. Religion is the cause of so many wars and problems on this planet.
-----------------------
Biggest falsity in the world!
You know, as well as I do that it's people on not religious books that cause grief.
In my religion (islam) I know there is nothing that advocates killing another human being UNLESS you are being attacked first.
Time and time again we see states, run not by religion authority but by 'democratic values waging illegal war, killing millions and destroying infrastructure.
Iraq for Example after the first golf was was first carpet bombed, then it's people left to die in the hands of Saddam with the very weapons we supplied him with, then we sanctioned them killing millions of children who couldn't eat or get medical aid, then our uranium tip shells came into action and a whole host of deformed babies were born during a generation, then we attacked them again, and then we destroyed there infrastructure putting them back in the dark ages and all in the name of oil and the economic boost of war.
What religion asks you to do that?
Is Islam weapons of mass destruction can't be used be it's indiscriminate and targets everybody.
We can't wage wars for resources only self protection.
We can't let children suffer.
WE CARE NOT ALLOWED TO DESTROY INFRASTRUCTURE! Something vitally important to a countries future after a war.
People are the problem and so is your ignorance!

The key point regarding religion is economics. Humans have unlimited wants in a world where limitation exists. Religion whether it is Islam or Buddhism teaches you that the human needs to control these wants. Buddhists can spend their whole lives devoted to suppressing their ego and self. Evil itself or actions which are taken by people in this world is not to do with religion. That is too simplistic to view it in a such away. Humans are the issue and this is a matter of fact. You only need to look at the planet and how we are destroying it. People will kill other people to benefit themselves. People will cause mass starvation across other nations to benefit "their way of life". People will steal from other lands because of greed. Is the distribution of wealth fair in the world? How can nations such as Britian have so much food that it can be thrown away? Then if we go a few thousand miles away people are starving and have nothing to drink.
Religion teaches humans to suppress the ego and unlimited wants of greed. It teaches people to give charity and help others. How many atheist charities do you see out there helping people? There are far more religious charities. Religion itself tries to eliminate the self and ego. It tries to suppress the self for the benefit of pleasing God. Religion is not there to cause division, it is there to bring people together. Some people may not believe in God. Everyone is entitled to their view but from my experience.. In my religion (Islam) we are taught to put others and God first. Division and suppression is seen as an act of evil. The main point is that, even without religion in the world, people will still find an excuse to kill each other. Whether it is politics, ethnicity etc. You only need to look at football. We as fans divide ourselves into groups which creates divide and hatred of people. Our nature is like that.
