Who cares, why is this on the United board

What exactly is wrong with having a girlfriend?

People will say, 'look, this is Islam they can pick and choose whatever they want', and Islam isn't about picking and choosing.
................................

All religions should be about picking and choosing... especially when they reach the age that Islam has.

Quite simply the rules a group of men came up with hundreds of years ago are not going to work in the modern world.

I am Muslim and I have looked into this. As Muslims we can't gamble or drink and we should not earn from these means and use it for ourselves. The money we earn from aiding in these organisation's should be given to charity but not spent on ourselves. So Cisse should have done something along that line.

Cisse is a donkey, he's got an illegitimate kid with a blonde Geordie and he's selecting a few rules to use as a tool to get out of Newcastle. Just hand in a transfer request you fool

Arab when he wanted to leave Frieburg he simply said so (or so I have been led to believe) so is there a chance this genuinely goes against his religious beliefs (his interpretation at least)?

Or is it a case off the knocking up of the blonde bird was also a mistake, a weakness, heat of the moment kind of thing whereas the Wonga logo is something he has had time to consider and think about so cannot not break that rule as he would be doing so willfully rather than just having a weak moment?

One last question does Islam specifically forbid going to a place where gambling takes place or just the actual activity of gambling?

It does seem unlikely he goes there and doesn't gamble but just assuming for a second his agent is telling the truth.

Who cares? Let him do what he wants. We all contradict ourselves. We're all hypocrites to some extent. He's just in the news and you're not.

7, he had all the time in the world to decide wether to get a girlfriend and then have a kid with her out of wedlock. He's a twàt, he's using sections of Islam to get out of Newcastle. And I think it's pretty much illegal in Islam to even be in a gambling place, yes. A millionaire like him wasn't in there to check the scenery, he defo had a few bets on the roulette

I agree that he shouldn't be picking and choosing, however that is the very definition of religion. Some people be blessed, some people not. Killing in the name of peace etc. Genuinely as long as he's not affecting anyone, who cares? Arab, are you telling me you never contradict the Quran?

Ohh is having a girlfriend specifically outlawed in Islam as well?

Or is that one that is a little unclear?

I am trying to approach it from the angle of if we look at it in the best possible light (from Cisse's angle) could his concerns be genuine...

As in maybe him and his girlfriend in a moment of weakness created the child... though if the girlfriend is not permissible in Islam anyway then that is a bit of a moot point.

It is one of the rules I am quite fond of in Islam that you cannot profit from lending money....

I'm one of the worst Muslims out there. I've drunk alcohol before for example, but I don't use the religion to pick certain things out and use to my advantage which is what he's doing here. It'd paint me as some houlier than thou religion freak when I'm the complete opposite

You're doing it with your judging and condemnation.

You could see he was gambling from the picture, he was alone at a table with chips in front of him and chips on the betting section in front of him

Also I do believe that there are times you have to be prudent and pick and choose what 'rules' you follow, at least for Christianity, for example, as there are some man-made rules that have set in which can be disregarded.

The term "illegitimate kid" is a bit below the belt. We're not living in the dark ages anymore. These rules are completely dated. You call him a hypocrite yet you drink alcohol. Come on mate.

posted on 24/7/13

FFS I'd be a hypocrite if I would be using a rule in the religion to my advantage like he's doing, but I'm not. And I'm not being 'dark aged' or rude, the kid has been born out of wedlock. It's a fact not an insult

Surely Muslims accept that having an exclusive relationship with the opposite gender is more than simply the means to have inter-course.

p.s my mum's side of the family are christian, i was born to a muslim dad and christian mother. so i have looked into both religions.

Denis I can't go into detail since I'm not even that up to date myself, I just know the basics which I've listed

I asked my original question because I was under the impression from previous discussions that having a gf was not wrong, but because Cisse had a 'blonde' gf that it was a problem, only to later hear that gf's as a whole now are wrong in Islamic cultures.

Girlfriends and boyfriends are pretty much frowned upon, you're just thrown into the deep end that is marriage
