All of these religions are copy cat religions. Islam and Christianity are the prominent religions right now but their teachings and prophets are parallel with many religions thousands and thousands of years older than them.

Watched some interesting youtube videos which mention many similarities in the main story such as the resurrection and following a star, the immaculate conception ect. going back through lots of different religions thousands of years into the past...

I get what you are saying... Islam see's all children as legitimate heirs it is just that the very definition of the phrase seems to imply that simply being born out of wedlock makes someone an illegitimate child regardless of whether they are treated exactly the same as a legitimate child or not...

Maybe the English doesn't translate that well and comes out meaning something different.

What I am saying is that even if everyone in the world decided they were the legitimate heir despite being born out of wedlock the phrase seems to include anyone who is born out of wedlock regardless of how their religion or others view them.

Mainly in Casablanca. However, I have family in marrakech and Tanger.

I get what you are saying. My main point is the child is considered equal. The way it may have been conceived may be illegitimate under Islamic law. But the child itself is innocent.

I knew some of that (generally interested in history and religion is a major part of that) although not the individual himself rather the general theme of Islamic culture taking the works of other cultures and advancing it whilst Europe was plunged into the dark ages and stalled (or actually went backwards) in its thinking...

Without their good work back then Europe would have never progressed as much as it has as it would have had to relearn what others learned before (and obviously learn what the Islamic cultures learned)

0 being one of the more famous examples that come to mind....

Yup exactly, if other non muslims had some of your knowledge there wouldn't be much cause for fighting at all.

This would also require a lot of todays ignorant muslims to understand there own teachings as well of course.

The worst thing is the Islamic world has been bombed into the dark ages so ignorance will carry on because the fighting will carry on.

Not to turn this into a political discussion (internal problems has caused the rot long before this) but I think Israel really doesn't help here, not so much that it causes this or holds back Islam through its own actions...

More that tyrants and dictators have a foreign enemy to point at and distract its inhabitants from internal reform. Their backwards political systems, lack of social mobility and a lack of an informed and powerful middle class is what seems to hold them back now, that and foreign enemies...

Obviously the West is just as bad, we use our enemies as an excuse to distract from domestic problems and terrorists as an excuse to curtail civil liberties. My own government is much more terrifying to me than any number of terrorists willing to cut people's heads off and blow themselves up...

The west will never allow Islamic nations to coordinate and reform. It just will not be allowed to happen. These regions supply most of the world oil. The influence these nations have are vast.

We (and i use the term we, because I was born and raised in England) have turned the middle east into what it is today.

Were draw the borders of the middle-east, we helped partition Palestine into 2 states. (Who has the the right to divide a country in to 2 by the way?)

The thing is all this war could stop tomorrow if

A) We stop aiding Israel

B) We close all foreign bases in the middle east.

We wouldn't be to pleased if Iran had military bases in wales and scotland.

Iran had a quite liberal president back in the 50's/60's (can't quite remember the date) but it wasn't a pro American government so he was replaced with the Shah who was taken down in the Islamic revolution... assuming that the country wouldn't have broken down in a revolution or somehow gone backwards through its own doing it would probably be a thriving democracy just as advanced a society as any western one...

It is that kind of thing that makes me especially annoyed at those who accuse Islam of being backwards and holding back the middle east whilst they don't realise that us in the West have played a huge part in making it that way....

However, the West would not be able to live in the prosperity it does if the actions taken by the American government and British Government were not taken. No Arab nation or nation in that region will be allowed to prosper as it will affect the way of life in the West.

I agree to a point Kung Fu, I think the effects of this culture clash would still be with us for sometime and we would still have some terrorism about the place...

Take the real I.R.A as an example, we managed to work a solution that the majority of people were happy with but the hardcore were determined to keep the conflict going and it will take a generation or two for them to completely disappear and then maybe a few more generations for any ill feeling to disappear...

Unfortunately I absolutely agree mate. It will never happen!

OOF to be honest I think it would have forced conversion to other fuel sources much sooner (something Oil companies like to block, slow down and completely stop where they can) this combined with huge military budgets (which are partially justified through the Islamic threat) would take up some of the slack...

That and trade is a profitable business, having a middle east filled with advanced societies which can trade back and for with the West would in the end benefit us all greatly...

I think we should have gone full on for Nuclear power to cover anything renewable energy sources cannot many years ago.... that and we should have been working on different energy sources for cars many many years ago not just in the last few...
