Is Nuclear really the answer? It's radioactive and its waste is near impossible to get rid of. Where do you put it? Space? Any leakage is also hazardous which can affect generations of people. I'm not sure it's the best idea.

Children are all considered innocent according to Islam. The blame is on the parents.
...............................................

I get what you are saying... Islam see's all children as legitimate heirs it is just that the very definition of the phrase seems to imply that simply being born out of wedlock makes someone an illegitimate child regardless of whether they are treated exactly the same as a legitimate child or not...

Maybe the English doesn't translate that well and comes out meaning something different.

What I am saying is that even if everyone in the world decided they were the legitimate heir despite being born out of wedlock the phrase seems to include anyone who is born out of wedlock regardless of how their religion or others view them.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The very term illegitimate child is so out dated, that it's only really used as a religious term. Most children in the western world now are illegitimate, it's a bull sheet, out dated term.

A religious person being hypocritical? Who'd've thunk it?

Religion and God is for fools who can't think for themselves.
What right do these so-called holy books have that they can dictate what you're supposed to do?

All of these religions are copy cat religions. Islam and Christianity are the prominent religions right now but their teachings and prophets are parallel with many religions thousands and thousands of years older than them.
........................................

Watched some interesting youtube videos which mention many similarities in the main story such as the resurrection and following a star, the immaculate conception ect. going back through lots of different religions thousands of years into the past...

Fascinating stuff!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeh, exactly. If you look through ancient religions so many of them had gods or prophets born to a virgin mother on the 25th of December. Mere coincidence that Jesus was born on the same day to a virgin mother? Hmmmmmmm I think not. Seems like some sheep herders have been sharing stories.

Do you agree or not that religion has been the root cause of most killings especially in the last few decades?

False statement. Religion is just an excuse. Greed is the reason.

posted on 24/7/13

Actually I do not, it has been man's interpretation of religion that has been the cause of most killings.

The war where the most people died on record is the 2nd world war if I'm not mistaken. Was that a religious war?

I agree with all of the above. Except the Wonga exploit the poorest people. People choose whether to take out a loan or not. Wonga offer a very expensive service, granted, but everyone has a choice.

Not so much freedom with banks and politicians mind you. Now they really do exploit people. If you want to live in England you certainly have to pay the politicians and the bankers.

Except he's right though isn't he?

posted on 24/7/13

No stretty, he isn't. People were having a decent discussion and if he has an opposing view point, he can present that in a way that isn't inflammatory as most posters on here did.

People are entitled to believe what they want and if you do not you do not have to belittle them or call them fools.

That is not the way to engage in a debate.

Who gives the right to people to mercilessly & publicly execute innocents just because some girl went to school or had the "audacity" marry her lover?

Please explain Red Indian.

posted on 24/7/13

Nothing gives the right to do that W&R. But people still do it. They think it is religious or cultural. Take a look at India and the rape case. Women are still looked down upon. Is that due to religion or the culture there? You can look at China where women are still expected to be a good house wife and raise the kids when they get married and men are still expected to be providers and generally Chinese don't have a religion. Yes, they follow customs and their cultural norms. The same can be said of Japan and Korea (though Korea seems to have a rising Christian population due to missionaries).

People who blame religion for death and wars are idiots. Wars will happen for whatever reason. Ghenghis Khan didn't fight for religion, Alexandre the great didn't fight for religion. Hitler didn't fight for religion.

I guess you're relating to a specific incident of public execution which happens as a form of capital punishment in certain Islamic countries, such as Saudi, Iraq and Iran (My father's birth place). Public executions are down right disgusting and really medieval. This is where some countries of Islam is really behind a few hundred years. They need to change their rules with regards to homosexuality and women and change their forms of punishment. Just cause it says it in a thousand year old book written by farmers doesn't mean you need to stick with the dated rules. It's like the Americans and their stupid gun laws. Just cause it's in the 2nd amendment that they have the right to bear arms. Bearing in mind this was written in a time of tyranny from the British, they should have evolved from that by now.

Or Britain and America They all fought for power.

I'm an atheist and think the whole idea of religion is ridiculous but at the same time i'd never try and tell someone they couldn't believe what they believe unless those beliefs were extreme (that goes for any religion) and people suffered as a result of it.

People care way too much about knocking peoples beliefs rather than finding their own truths and looking at things in a compassionate way.

The Rez devil
I am an Indian and women are looked down upon by the culture here. Hinduisd and Islam are chief religions here and both of them put down women.
Don't be fooled by the so called religion experts who say that religious scripts advocate gender equality. No they don't. That's the biggest myth circulated around.
The situation is improving and that is only because of education/literacy nothing else
