Last year when we lost to Everton, most people on here were shouting on about how much we need a player like Fellaini, that he was exactly the type of player we needed in midfield, we should try our best to sign him.
Why now would most people on here think signing him is a mistake and would be unhappy.
Yes Cesc is a better player but I think Fellaini is more they type of player we need.
What’s wrong with Fellaini?

But it still doesn't take away from the fact that Fellaini has the tools to trouble any top side!

Apart from being tall, and having big hair, what tools is it that you think he has RS.
And correct me if I am wrong here, but for Everton, hasn't Fellaini played more as a second striker, as opposed to a midfield player.
I think people are confusing this (imposing himself in midfield) with him winning headers around and in the 18 yard box.

Against us he was all chest and head and you think he destroyed us?
Long balls to his chest is not destroying us IMO.

I actually agree with SLM on this one. and if I remember rightly, we had Carrick in the defence last season marking him, with Valencia at RB.

You should all read this.
The main point I take from this is:
A year on and there's a sniffiness about the same player possibly joining David Moyes' United, despite that player easily outscoring any of United's midfielders in the Premier League last season. Yes, he played in a more advanced role for Everton, but the fact that he also out-tackled any of United's midfielders suggests that he was not simply standing behind Nikica Jelavic waiting to get his big fluffy head on Leighton Baines' diagonal balls.
Also he's the same age as Anderson and only 2 years older than Cleverley. He's better than both at the moment; lets be frank.

Fellaini or nothing what would you chose ?

Nothing. I don't want us to sign someone just for the laugh of it.

Really, you would prefer to not sign anyone than sign him?
How anyone in their right mind think that is beyond me.

Nothing. The problem with our midfield is over rotation. The player coming in should be an assured unmistakeable starter. For me fellaini is at the same level as our other players. He does not seem to be the quality that can stop a debate on our best pairing. We need that quality which is why cesc will probably be the only target that makes any sense, and why I suspect we will go to high number to get him.
Fellaini for me is under the list of players people just want to see because they think we have a chronic lack of ability in midfield. That's why half baked ideas keep coming up. Mccarthy for crying out loud.

He's better than Cleverly, Anderson, Powell and Fletcher.

At what exactly? The only thing I can say for sure is he is better aerially. Better passer? Better tackler? Better creator? Make him 6 inches taller and literally no one will know who fellaini is.

utd have signed a hell of a lot worse in recent years. Looks like martinez is going to bring him to everton. Bags of potential and promise a bit more self beleif in his own ability is what he needs. Hes definately one to keep an eye on next season.

For a tall player, he has good ball control plus his ability to hold off a man. His obvious aerial threat and his physical presence not to mention his eye for goal.
He's often stated that his preferred position is DM -and as others have stated (of which I agree), if he was played alongside a Fabregas type of player we'd stand far less chance of getting pushed around through the middle!

This is where Carrick plays. Sorry, but I wouldn't want Fellaini over Carrick.
