Just read an article in the BN about Eagles being a doubt for Saturday. I can't bring myself to care. I don't like the lad, and it's nothing to do with him being an ex United player. It's to do with my perception of him as a player. I see him as greedy (shoots from everywhere) and lazy (looks like he's tracking back, but is completely unwilling to stick his foot in if there's the slightest chance of getting hurt). In general he's not as good as he thinks he is.
Before anybody replies with his stats showing me how good he is and how vital to the cause he is - that's my point, which of our players, past or present, have you never rated despite nearly everybody else holding the complete opposite view.
No he's not, he's bobbins!

I don't think Kevin Davies role suited the team. That was my whole point.

Jay Spearing, the reaction across numerous forums is that we are signing a great player rather than just a slightly above average clogger. I just can't get excited about signing a pug faced scouser.
He might have been player of the season, but runner up was the mascot from the Blackburn match so wasn't the greatest achievement.

Kevin Davies' style of play no longer suited the team as Dougie is trying to change our playing style.
However under Allardyce he was integral to our success.
The fact a player doesn't suit a certain style of play doesn't make them a bad player.
I rate Eagles, however he can be very frustrating to watch.

It is a balancing act. At Brum last season Eagles scored a majestic free-kick, yet minutes earlier he'd completely switch off for Brum's opener. So if the 2013-14 Eagles is a mirror image of 2012-13 I to am not bothered he's missing in the slightest because the bad cancels out the good - he goes walkabout too many times.
Now if Doug and Lenny can reset his concentration so the good far outweighs the bad then we have a class act on our hands and he should be first name on the teams sheet every week.

I can't tell whether people are joking about Eagles or not...

Nigel Reo Coker, i still hold him to account for our relegation from the Prem, i said it at the time and got shot down for it...but who is he playing for now? Certainly not Prem standard, never has been but played every game for us that season...hence we went down....still hate him now!

He plays in the US I think. I don't blame him for relegation as he generally gave his all. Sad fact was that was not enough. The way he dumped us is what I despise about the fella.

NRC showed the negatives of the power of the 'Bosman' rule...

NRC wanted to swap midfield roles constantly which was fine when he was with Muamba who could sit in midfield but he also wanted to give Mark Davies that job as well when he knew full well he couldn't do it.
Wanted to leave because he thought he could continue to play in the Premier League. Ended up playing badly for Ipswich.

I believe Nigel Reo-Coker has been blaming everybody but himself in Vancouver for the past few months.
