Venue: John Smiths Stadium
Date: 10/08/2013
Kick Off: 1500hrs
Town head into the 2nd fixture of the season in 21st place in the very young League table.
The visitors are in the play off places.
Town and QPR last met in the dreadful 2002-03 season, when Town were in administration , the game at our place in March 2003 when they beat us 3-0 was one of the most comprehsive defeats I have seen at our stadium.
The last time we met in the second tier BOTH teams were relegated ( 2000-01, ) Town beat QPR 1-0 in April 2001 facing a QPR side with the young Peter Crouch as their centre forward !
QPR were formed in 1886. A team called St Jude's (est 1884) merged with Christchurch Rangers (est 1882).
They took the name Queens Park Rangers because most of the players came from the Queen's Park area of NW London.
Played for both clubs
Kevin Gallen
Ian Bennett
Leon Knight
QPR have spent the last 2 seasons in the Premier league firstly under a Town Legend in Neil Warnock , then the very over-rated Mark Hughes, and now by the highly respected Harry Redknapp, who has had great success at all his clubs………….. barring the Saints.
After Tuesday with town only in 3rd gear, I thought we played excellent, Clayton, Lynch and our new midfield general Hogg all excelled.
Hunt remains a concern and it will be interesting to see if he is picked on Saturday, watching him closely on Tuesday his head looked elsewhere, he looked like he didn’t care or want to play for us .
If that’s the case, get RID, get some money in and sure up our defence.
Not sure if the three centre back experiment will work against the better clubs in our very tough league.
QPR have many stars in their team from Rob Green to Barton, Zamora Wright Phillips. Town will have to beat their best to win but I think we can.
Its our first home game , lets get behind the boys, I think we can, and will surprise some people this year and remember , Vaughan, Vaughan will tear you apart !!
UTT .

I signed up to DATM 3 years ago....then I started reading some of the posts and immediately made the decision to never visit the site ever again.
The levels of f-ckwittery within that site are incredible.

Yes, none more so than thinking you might get a freebie for the grandchildren attending his first game

well actually, if you read the thread properly you will see it says exactly the opposite to that...but maybe suggests it as an idea for the future...like a keepsake for the nippers to take home...like Anton Robinson or something
