What changes will we see on the pitch in

the season ahead?

Will we have 11 players in our own box defending corners or will we leave a player or two on the half way line for an out ball or counter attacking threat?

Will we change our mindset when we go 1-0 up try to defend the lead as normal or will we push on for the second, especially against teams we should beat?

Will we when chasing the game only make substitutions with 5 minutes to go?

Will we stick with players who are going through the motions or will we change the first eleven to reflect the form of the players?

Will we change our formation depending who we are playing and whether we are home or away? IE play 4-5-1 against Man United away but still play 4-5-1 when facing Crystal Palace at home.

Will we still let teams win 90% of throw ins whether its ours or their throw ins?

Will we have more than 5 shots in a season in open play from outside the box?

It will be interesting to see the difference in style and approach in the forthcoming season.

What are your views on the season ahead fellow Blues?

I'm not a blue but I think Martinez will get you playing some very nice easy-on-the-eye passing football. It's in his DNA.

This is a bit harsh on moyes... But you are mostly right I think we'll score and conceded more, end up with more points than last year and be frustrated and excited by the football Martinez brings.

Moyes did a lot for Everton and despite not winning a trophy he'll be looked on as one of our better managers.

His one big flaw was that he was pretty inflexible with the formation of the team and often would play a player out of position because he wanted to play that player.

You're right about square pegs and round holes under moyes and its good to see Martinez has played more formations in pre season than moyes did in 11 years

I would probably say Moyes is up with Kendal for me as managers go. It's difficult to compare era's...but in a time dominated by money, he did very well with very little.

I am confident in Martinez and his ability. Would like to see more of our youth players used (Barkley / Lundstrum) used and excpect to see this happen. It wont happen right away but I am sure we will play a good progressive passing and pressing game
